Daniel, Remington went to the small primer, because it showed better accuracy than the large. Not exactly sure, but I think it has to do with the size of the flash hole. Back in the late 70's and early 80's, when silhouette was just starting out, there were many an XP-100 re-chambered to what was then called 1.5x.308. The direct forerunner of the 7br.
