I'm sure you have received emails that depict some pretty sorry looking people as they shop at Walmart. At least that's the caption I see most often.

Here is a well dressed Walmart shopper in Alaska

Now you have done it, we will be lectured on fashion, soda pop, and who knows what else. That being said..... the belt that she needs would not fit in the belt loops of those jeans, and aint no way she is gonna wear one on the outside......the very idea!

Ranger 99: Don't count on it. The fact she is carrying a 1911, to me says she knows what she is doing. I'm sure she has drawn that gun several times and if there was a problem she has taken that into account. Many women here in Alaska (My wife for one) goes armed at all times, and have used their sidearms a few times.

most of these modern "combat"
holsters without a strap that i've messed
with grip the gun very tightly and would
bind if the belt weren't stiff enough to
hold it in place.

We have open carry in NM. However, you should have seen the eyes popping and mouths gaping at a Father, Mother, and Daughter trio in Sam's all with Kimber 1911s on their belts. That is why I carry concealed.

Yea cheese, if you think about it. It could be problematic! concealed carry to me is more unassuming and less in your face..... Even when I see a LEO's side arm I check the weapon out and look to the eyes. Its the first thing I notice.

I'd have to disagree with you on this - she's not carrying in Condition 1 which means when she draws she'll have to either a. cock the hammer if she's carrying hammer down on a loaded chamber, or b. rack the slide to chamber a round if she's carrying with an empty chamber.

How much time do you think she'll have if she gets jumped by a 200# mugger on the way to her car with a double hand full of bags???
