Kids!
« on: March 19, 2013, 04:43:14 PM »
As many of you know, my fiancée is a kindergarten teacher in Georgia. All of her students are 5 years old. This past Friday one of her students just could not stay awake during class at all. He is normally an active child, but Friday he was listless, disinterested and generally struggling to stay awake. Lori asked him if he was feeling sick or needed to go see the nurse.  He said  “No, ma’m, I just couldn’t get any sleep last night.” Lori asked “Are you sure you’re o.k.? If not, we’ll go to the nurse.” He replied “No m’am, I’m fine. I just didn’t get any sleep. Sometimes my Dad tickles my Mom almost all night.”

Ah!  Troy State!  ;D  I picked up a business major there in the late 60's; well actually at the Ft. Rucker extention.  Troy has grown some since then!   ;)

Used to be Troy State. Now Troy University. My middle son got a business degree there a few years ago. Lori goes to the campus in Phenix City.

Tuesday the students were making 3-D objects w/marshmallows  & toothpicks. The school had visitors all three days this week, and there was an observer that went to her classroom. After they got finished with their project, one of the children asked if they could eat the marshmallows. Lori said no, as they were all over the  desks, some dropped on the floor, and generally not fit for consumption. She said
" No, they are our tools, and we do not eat our tools."
The Child asked " Well, what about Johnny?"
Lori and the visitor both looked at "Johnny" and he had his mouth so packed with marshmallows that he looked like a hamster! Lori rolled her eyes and the visitor hastily left the room. Later that afternoon the visitor approached Lori and told her she left because she was about to laugh out loud, and wondered how Lori handled herself so calmly...

There's an old saying in LA (lower Alabama) "you have to eat a peck of dirt before you die" tell them that they can eat them at there own risk.
