No... just sell it and buy the .22/250... way cheaper amd practical way to go... it probably won't cost you anything to make the swap... or very little.... or better yet, fit a .22/250 barel to your frame and have both.

Hoyt is correct....much cheaper just to trade up a barrel here on the classifieds.  For the cost of doing it, you could have two barrels....

I love my .223 Ultra, would not change it for nothing.  When I wanted a 22-250 I went out and bought another gun in 22-250.  Since changing the barrels changes the point of impact, I don't do the barrel change thing anymore.  Got tired of having to resight in the scopes every time I changed the barrel.

Don't let anyone tell you the point of impact does not change.  Take your gun and shoot a 250 yard target, then take the barrel off.  Put it right back on and tighten it back up just like it was.  The point of impact will change, you will be lucky to even be on the paper at that range.  You won't be anywhere near the same point you were before.  And 250 yards is not long range, every one should be able to hit a gallon milk jug at 250 yards with almost any Handi.  Especially a .223 Ultra.  Yes, the scope is mounted on the barrel, but the harmonics are changed, and the gun will not shoot the same place after a barrel change.  My TCR will, but my handis will not.

250 yds. might not be long range for you but it's two fields and a hedgerow where I hunt. ;)
Sometimes 50 yds. is long range.

How wide is a gallon milk jug? approx 8''? thats just over 3moa. If you're doing your part I'd certainly hope that it would spring a leak at least.

^^^correct, Pete...but after posting this i spoke with a gunsmith friend and he opined that the 22-250 with a 1:9 might create issues by TOO MUCH spin...so...i'l look at other options suggested here...

You likely realize 1:9 is a faster twist. This is to stabulize a longer bullet better. (1:7 is also used in other rifles for this) I have yet to hear of or see a OVERSTABULIZED bullet... ::) :o

I agree its better to sell what you have a but a 22/250 barrel, spinning the bullet TOO FAST, would NOT be a deciding factor  ;)
