What are we going to do when the ammo makers get shut down.
« on: March 24, 2013, 07:50:42 PM »
Once the DHS has all the ammo they want, what is to prevent the president from shutting down all the ammo makers.  He will have disarmed the public.  Oh some of us can last for a while, but even we will run out sooner or later.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Learn to make your own from scratch.  The army put out a manual which included the instructions.  Look it up.

We have brass....  We can pretty easily find lead and make bullets but you still need primers.....

Its crossed my mind Roger...

Take their ammo.

That's it. Hypothetically speaking of course.

Old friend of mine said all he needed was his deer rifle if the "blue hats" came. Said he'd go out and pick up all the ammo and guns he'd need. Not sure if he'd find his cane or not, if they came at night..but I admire his thinking.  J

They know what they are doing.  The dollar will cease to be the world's currency in a few years.  Russia, Germany, India, and China have all been hording up gold to back up their money.  We don't have enough to back up ours.  When this happens, our nation will be bankrupt.  We will owe, China, Japan, other foreign nations such as Brittan and a few Europen countries.  However, most will be owed to American pension funds.  When there is no money, no pensions, no welfare, no food stamps, not even enough money to pay the military.  There will be riots for money, runs on banks to convert our worthless money to some other currency as fast as possible since we will have hyper inflation.  There will be chaos.  Thus probably martial law and homeland security to handle it.  Some states may at this time seperate from the union especially mountain, plains, and southern states.  We must be prepared as much as possible.  So prep your beans, bullets, and bandaids as much as and as best you can.  If non is available, prep black powder for black powder weapons, buy some snares and traps, bows, crossbows, whatever weapons available.  We may be in this for the long haul.  Even with homeland security, the feds can't police everywhere at once.

Not sure I  am going to spend much time worrying about this. This too shall pass. One way or the other in a few months this will fade and we will have more serious things to contemplate. Like how are we going to protect the spam, beans and rice that we stored away, and what are we going to eat when they run out.  :o

Seriously, all you can do is learn to make do with what you have and try to improve on that. What I have on hand will take me far enough into the future that my kids will have to sweat it.  :-\   Wont be much plinking goin on fer sure!

Bring suit in the supreme court naming the "culprits", not the government it's self, using the us government in the interference in legal free enterprise. Should be a criminal offense. See how many brave Republican Congressmen climb on board with it. ear

I seem to recall reading about how the AMERICAN INDIAN got along just fine with their mere tools and weapons until the white man came along and changed everything.
I think I will do just fine living off the land, if I survive the first couple of waves of intrusion into my life by the feds.
Even then, if they don't kill me I will survive.
If the Indians could do it, so can we!

What Gunut in Iowa said makes alot of sence remember we outnumber them as they fall pick up their ammo and weapons and keep fighting on.  Has worked B-4 and will still work again, and some are thinking every LEO and Military person are going to follow his orders I think he will get a big surprise when he orders them to shoot their own family members.  Jim

Again, look at the army manual on home made weapons or see the utube movie on making primers. It is all do-able.

With a little forethought and planning the troops likely to resist orders could be grouped and deployed in precontrived conflicts (some which seem to be comeing about now) where they could be staged to not come out on top. ear

Most of my family and 30 years of their friends in service are LE. From what I understand, there is little worries aboutour local police doing anything other than taking off their uniforms and going home to protect their families. They want no part of it.  J

My belief and strategy is that we all need to support the NRA financially and otherwise to push back against those in Washington, DC and those in state capitals who would take our guns and keep us from obtaining ammo.  Believe me, if not for the NRA we would have lost practical use of firearms a long time ago.  From time to time I read about NRA critics and competitors, and no outfit of which I am a member (even when I am in charge) is above examination by members, but absent the NRA we would all be facing what residents of CO, NY, MA, CA and likely a few other states now face.

I believe that police depts in rural areas and smaller towns will resit the feds. The cities like chicago see armed citizens as enemies anyway.
During WW11 thousands of smoothbore sgl shot 45 cal pistols were dropped to citizens in France. I believe they were called Liberator guns, or some thing like that. They had only 1 or 2 spare ctgs. The intent was to kill a german to get his rifle, ammo, knives and provisions. They were understandably meant for very close range.  I understand they worked well. I saw one at the Patton museum at Ft Knox. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

Unlike the USMC, which is a well trained fighting force of the highest caliber, the DHS has a bunch of Civvies in it maybe with some LE or Military background.   Recent news reports show them to be more inept than ATFE.  I don't see DHS as a cohesive fighting force, but rather a bunch of armed bullies.   They will probably act tough when they show up in overwhelming force on an individual or family,  but what will they do when the real SHTF?     Probably a good thing to do is to have a published list of all DHS employees and their addresses.......no action need be taken but if the list is published it will give them pause before they think about reaking havoc among the populace.....

Hitler had confiscated private ownership of firearms before he turned his Brownshirt goons loose.     I don't think private ownership could be outlawed without DHS getting a heavy dose of lead poisoning.........   we have to watch what happens with the 2014 elections ......

I have one that my Dad had , it was built by General Motors ! It also has an instruction book that is
in cartoon form in case the partisan couldn't read .
Its a pretty funky little pistol and I would be afraid to shoot it . But I guess it did what it was intended
for .

Anna, you have an extremely valuable piece of history.    The actual manufacturing cost of the Liberator was $2.10 in 1942 ($32 today).    A piece today with the box and instruction sheet is worth over $2000.      Hopefully you will never be pressed to use it in harms way.

If the entire Japanese army decided not to invade Kalifornia 72 years ago because there would be a gun behind every blade of grass, what chance would the DHS brownshirts have against the armed populace of 2013?
Vote them all out, EVERY election!

No kidding ? This thing is ridiculous looking it doesn't even have wood grips !
I don't think it has rifling and you have to take the back end off of it to put a round in it .
The comic book instructions are the funny thing .
Dad had a lot of WW2 stuff, I now have three Lugers and a broom handle with a red nine on the
grips . It has a wooden holster ?
Didn't the Germans back then use leather for a holster ?
One of the rifles I have has an article with it that says it was Hitlers answer to the M1 Garand ?
It doesn't look like a Garand he also had two of them , but I have no idea how to shoot one of them.
A list here says two 98k rifles , an artillery Luger and I can't figure out which one that is .
A high power with Nazi markings and it has a wooden holster also.
Why did the Germans make wood holsters ? A PPK in 32 , a P38 , and what is an STG ?
There are mags for one of those and some for an MP 40 ?
No guns but there are these magazines that I guess fit something but I don't know what !  :o

It was meant to be an inexpensive throwaway "single shot" assassins tool for partisans to eliminate the enemy and get their rifles/pistols/ammo.    the US droppe millions of them into Europe during WWII .....none had serial #s and the project was so secretive nobody else knew the exact numbers.  To find a specimen with the box and instructions is like finding a needle in a haystack.    I just checked GunsAmerica and a sample without the instructions is listed for $2300.00      Hang on to your piece of history from the Greatest Generation!

Dad was a pack rat there is no telling where he got all this junk . Some of its cool but the odds and
ends stuff like the mags that no one knows what they fit need to be tossed in the scrap iron .
Oh one of these Lugers is called a nambo, is that who made it ?
What's a stoner 63 ? There is a barrel here for one of those still in the wrapper and a bipod .
And why did Cadillac get involved in making barrels for that gun ?
Lots of questions I wish you guys would help me with all this stuff .

If the president attempted to "shut down" the ammunition manufacturers without congressional authorization via a legitimate bill passing both houses, then that would be no less than a declaration of war issued by a dictator.
