true but just you guys and the all the Handi forums, oh and the canning with candice forum....lol...jk ;D

PLUS....its a lot of ground to cover with old farm junk all over and metal everywhere, and a metal detector would be useless looking for a PVC pipe full of family hierloom pictures..... ;)

Ranger99,
I think you are 100% correct there. Never let your guard down and trust no one dispite how secure you think you are is the bottom line I guess.
A good reminder, thank you sir.

6 inch PVC with ends make nice fishing rod containers for travel I have several for surf rods when I travel. We can't hide so be creative  ;D ;)

If someone like a govt agency had need to check youir property they can use several tools some will point out voids in the ground , even two bent metal wires used ad divining rods will show a pipe in the ground .
BTW the article mentioned earlier noted in England people burried their pipe under power lines  ;)  like the feed from house to shed.
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

Dreamed about this last night. Had a thought, planting a container vertically would make it hard to discover. Might make it harder to recover as well but hopefully you wouldn't be in a terrible hurry to recover your "valuables". A tractor with an auger could make the hole and a nylon rope could be "planted" to assist with retrival.

i don't know. if you bury something
on my place, which is all sand, you
won't be pulling it up with any rope.
you'll either dig it all the way back
up, or use 2 or 3 sticks of hy-drive.
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

OH you would have to dig even here. but I pull up 8 " fence posts with a tractor all the time that are buried 4 ft down. Im not talking ski rope here, but even a chain could be used, once you have cleared the top. Id say attach the rope/ chain on the lower end while planting, with a short line below the surface. Just a thought.

With oldshooters method you can put a 6 inch pipe in the ground in a verticle position and put a smaller size pipe in it. That way it would be easy to retrive. Like a case in a case.
Also I would put salt around the pipe to keep any vegetation from growing into it.

Yea well if its "treasure" you got buried.  ::) As long as you pay the taxes on it they wont mind, they might even help you refind it.  ;)

They prolly have agents lurking here posing as hunters and gun enthusiasts, and I  think I know who they are.  :o 8) :-X

But a 4 in a six might work.

If you are going to the trouble, I'm using 12" sewer pipe or 24"-36"                        concrete culvert w/ water proofing.  I want something that holds something.

Won't be on my place, but 200 + sections could be a challenge for them to find a hole.
