This country is all over socio capitalism! Obama is farther left than your basic socio capitalist. He's not even into capitalism. The word communist comes to mind.

Still jumping to extremes, I see. "Socio-capitalism" is all about MODERATION. MOST of the civilized world follows this economic system, since it is the only one that is stable long-term. It seeks to avoid creation of corpocratic capitalist overlords.

It was, at least until the corpocratic capitalist overlords got involved and destroyed their economy just like they did ours.

Socio Capitalism will never be successful.  Has never been successful in the long term.  True free capitalism is the only fair economic system, you want it, you pay for it. Socio capitalism requires everybody to pay for products/services even if you don't use them. Corporate capitalistic overlords favor socio capitalism because governments are bought and paid for, presidents, congressmen actively lobby for them they then use the government to advance their wishes. And everyone ends up paying for things that they do not even use or ever wish to use.  Goldman Sachs knows this obviously.

That's because in reality, the working form is capitalism with some of the controls of socialism. And pretty well ALL modern democracies have this kind of economic system--- nobody in their right mind would let the capitalists have free rein. They'd end up like us. (Think of foxes guarding chickens, if it helps.)

ChungDoQuan,  The foxes are watching the chickens in this system you so favor.  Just because all other "civilized" country is not an excuse.  Misery loves company.  True free capitalism is the real answer.  A very strong and very limited government also needs to be in place.  Real accounting laws not generally accepted accounting principles and real enforceable pollution laws are all we really need to prevent public from dishonest and bad business practices.  The Government should not do any "social engineering."

What QDC does not understand is that what has made America special are the freedoms, the limits of government, the lack of a class system.  What has made America the leader for the last century was the ability of minds to create and a financial system to make those ideas a reality.  Some how, or some one has given him the idea that America is bad and that we need to be more like Europe and do what has caused them problems, what has stopped them from being great and free.  Some how Marxx and the false equality communism / socialism promises has grabbed him.  My guessis he feels under  utalized by society or by his boss and thinks if only he could have a system change his boss would be working for him.

Goldman Sachs and 289  other corporations have accumulated at least nine times the US national deficit each. Who do you all think has taken more money from you in your lifetime, corporations or the government? Look at it another way: how much income tax have you paid in your lifetime? Now how much interest have you paid on your mortgage? Your car loans? Your student loans? Credit cards? Now you tell me who took more money from you in your lifetime.
If you give up, THEY don't have to win.

Well since i have a choice to use Goldman Sach or any other financial company and I cna either accept their money to obtain the things I want or need.  And the governmetn takes from me on a regular basis at all levels.
My budget has me paying 10% of my post tax income to my car payment.  and only a portion of that goes to interest.  It is easier to pay that then try to save for a new car.  Now on the reverse governemnt takes 65% of my income in  total taxes. Property, sales, use, Income, and the entitlements.
SO I can clearly say the Government has taken far more money from me with nothing to show for what I have spent with them.  Had I been able to invest 1/3 of the money government has taken from me for the entitlements and I was allowed to invest that money with companies like Goldman, then I would not need the entitlments at the time I am 65.

Well when  you vote in 2014 don't vote for an evil.  Don't WASTE you vote on republicans or democrats if you want something else.  Maybe I won't live long enough to see more than two main political parties, but my children and grandchildren may.  Got to start setting the foundation for more than two (actually really one) political parties.

Just think where we would be economically, had not butthead spent so many billions on phony "green" projects which have all gon either bankrupt or are on their way to it!
Suppose those billion$$ been put into bringing our vast energy resources on line, to furnish our industries and sell to the rest of the world.  We could have greatly reduced the mideast oil billions and have solved much of  world terrorism financing, without spilling any American blood.
Think where we would be, had the feds not pile taxes upon taxes and regulations upon regulations..over just the last 4 years!
If the Lefties just had sense enough to face reality instead of continuing the charade of phony "global warming", which is after all..just the radical left's way of trying to consolidate power...at the expense of our freedom..
Here's the long range picture, put out by Globalresearch.org ; it shows that in the long range view, we are actually in a cooling period:

I didn't say they should "bail out " the White House. I'm saying that , in a world where money is power, those corporations have too much power. It's been this way since the end of the Revolution. They SHOULD pay their share of taxes. Lobbying should be illegal. Anyone who is not afraid of those corporations having that much power... well, there's just something wrong with them.

It doesn't matter WHICH of the two parties are corporate marionettes this week. What matters is that they BOTH are, meaning that, for all your devotion to the Constitution, it does not matter. The government is being ruled by big corporation money.

For example, while both sides beat their own drums about who should be allowed to get married to whom, while everyone was distracted, Monsanto got a bill passed that gives them immunity to lawsuits over harm caused by GMO food. Now, I ask you, if GMO foods were harmless, why do they need such a law? It's all about the money--- ALWAYS.

So what?
Are you saying we should steal their holdings and pay off the debt?  And if we do steal their money what would stop them same government from stealing everything from you?
I wish more companies had 9x the national debt, not that i want more conglomerates that big I want our national debt lower.  We can not keep borrowing to sustane the current spending.   At some point our debt service will exceed our income and we will be brankrupt.
