No way to tell by serial number like modern H&Rs, but the cast iron M158 was offered with both shotgun and low pressure rifle chamberings like 22 Hornet, 357mag and 30-30, those should work fine, but no high pressure chamberings. For modern frames you can call H&R and they'll tell you what can be fitted, but for the model 158 which was made by H&R Inc that went out of business in 1986, they won't offer any info.
