Have their names printed on all their shirts.

there are a lot of males
named hey-seus around
me now.

you'd have to do it as to where the
teacher couldn't get around it,
like johnthebaptist jones, or
princeofpeace phillips or something

i'd probably use texas heroes if
i turned the clock back so as
not to be blasphemous.
sam houston, james bowie,
william b travis, etc.

can't be any worse than some
of the turn-on tune-out names-
freedom, sunshine, moon unit,etc.

When I was in 2nd grade we had a teacher who refused to call a kid named Jesus by his name.

LT - if you lived in Nebraska and had a son named GUN you would be asked to change his name because it violates the school boards "Zero Tolerance" gun policy......just read below......

Nebraska Preschool: Deaf Boy’s Name Violates School “Weapons Policy” Posted by Gateway Guest Blogger on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, 10:34 PM       By: Rachel Pulaski
Grand Island Public School District in Nebraska, whose slogan is “Every Student, Every Day”, is trying to force a deaf 3 year old preschooler to change his name because it violates their “Weapons in Schools” policy that bans “any instrument … that looks like a weapon”. The little boy’s name is Hunter.
NY Daily News reported:

The district, in Grand Island, about three hours west of Omaha, has a policy that forbids kids bringing to school “any instrument … that looks like a weapon,”
local station KOLN reported.
According to the report, Hunter Spanjer signs his name by crossing his index finger and middle finger and then wagging his hands, which the school says is not appropriate.
“Anybody that I have talked to thinks this is absolutely ridiculous. This is not threatening in any way,” his grandmother, Janet Logue, told KOLN.
“It’s a symbol,” his father, Brian Spanjer, added. “It’s an actual sign, a registered sign, through S.E.E.,” or Signing Exact English, a sign language system.
A school spokesman called the issue a “misunderstanding” and said it had nothing to do with guns or weapons.
The name gesture was “not an appropriate thing to do in school,” and administrators were asking Hunter to spell his name out, letter-by-letter, instead of using the sign, spokesman Jack Sheard told the Daily News.
“We want to do what is best for every student in our district, and we care more about that than everything else,” Sheard said. “We are working with the parents to find the best solution we can.”
Locals think the school should leave the tyke alone.
“It’s his name. It’s not like he’s going to bring a gun to school when he’s 3-years old,” Grand Islander Dana Schwieger fumed.
Feel free to call this ridiculous school board and tell them to leave this child alone!
I'm just tryin' to keep everything in balance, Woodrow. You do more work than you got to, so it's my obligation to do less. (Gus McCrae)

If 'Jesus' (or Hay-sus - phonetic alternative) is banned at school with a child blessed with that name forced to use another handle,  what happens with youngsters blessed with the name 'Mohammed'?

If the school boards ban one, they must ban the other.  I suspect, however, that the only court-enforceable constraint is to not use religious terms in teaching materials or as part of instructor-led classroom presentations or discussions.  Prohibiting a child or parent from using those words, even in the school setting, violates freedom of speech and religion protections in the constitution.

BTW The same rule likely can be applied to use of firearms and archery terms as long as the words are not used in a threatening or intimidating manner.  A mere drawing or cartoon depicting, for example, a prime time TV show or WWII soldiers on cupcakes cannot be viewed in the same category as falsely calling out "Fire!" in a crowded movie theater.

The notion that children do not have the same free-speech rights as adults is wrong and inconsistent with the movement towards requiring proof beyond shadow of doubt for disciplining an unruly child.

Of course, some of our liberal sheep faint at the mere thought of a gun but that is not what free speech is about.

Seems like to me that, other than curse words, the words banned the most by liberals have to do with God, The American flag, or guns, they are enemies of liberals, scares them. Can't take a chance of offending anybody ya know. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

Is there any wonder why we get the type of people sent to DC to represent us? Just keep voting Republican or Democrat just because it's our political party of choice, and watch as life in the USA becomes even more insane.

It's ....... about {.CONTROL } Total control of the subjects! They are after a system where Corporate  Government controls every minute of every life. It's getting darn close. Before long, if you want to communicate with another, you will have to use smoke signals, and you don't want to be standing close to the fire when Big Bro or Sis comes to investigate. :o
Freedom Of Speech.....Once we lose it, every other freedom will follow.
