super light loading for 7.62x54r
« on: March 26, 2013, 07:48:24 PM »
I'm looking for load info to load super light bullets 93grain plain base round nose in 7.62x54r cases just as a quiet plinker round. does anyone have access to reliable info? Would like to use small amounts of pistol powder if possible, I have unique and bullseye. i have trail boss but don't want to use it up for this. Also does anyone make a round ball in .312?

7 to 10 grains of Unique should do fine.  I have a .32 round ball mold and I size it down to .308 with a Lee sizer, but it could be sizes to .312 or .314 just as easily.

I got my .32 ball mold used and cheap but I think it's the smallest size Lee makes so that would be a cheap way to go.  I use 4 grains of red dot behind them in .30-30 loads.
