As of yesterday Walmart in Pineville, MO (S of Joplin on 71) had 2 AR15 DPMS .223   $597.00   FYI

Maybe the panic is about over

my avatar pic is my 1960 Rambler I bought in 1972 for $175..6 banger 3-on-the-tree...drove it for 5 yrs  22mpg.. was "hot-rodding" (LOL) one night...tore out 1st/reverse gear. Drove it that way for 2 yrs(with no reverse and only 2nd and high)  Had to really plan ahead when parking.
sold it for $125

Bought a DPMS at a local gun shop today.  Took it out an shot it.  Shoots good, but did not take my targets and rest along today.  Just made sure it's on the paper

That's a darn good price for a DPMS AR, do you know what model it was?

That's a darn good price for a DPMS AR, do you know what model it was?
It was the Sportical model..they are long gone unless they got some more in. My nephew went to buy one but said it was no where near the quality of his pre-gouging Academy Sports Bushmaster($900)

dont know about that. I had a sprotical and it was a great little ar. I liked it because it was about a lb lighter then any of my others. Sure it was missing the forward assist which shouldnt be on any ar!! Its also missing a dust cover which i do like but sure isnt nessisary and it lacks the chrome lined barrrel which is good and bad. Good because the non chrome barrels usually shoot better bad because if your going to run one like a machinegun the chrome bore will hold up a bit longer. Other then that theres not spit differnce between a dpms and a bushmaster. Both are non milspec ars with cheap bolt carrier groups.
