I've got an Ithaca MAG-10, just about the same thing as a Remington SP-10 and its recoil isn't bad at all, and neither is my Ithaca NID double barrel in 10-gauge magnum. Both weigh a lot so there is no sharp jab in the recoil even though they push one back a ways. I also have a 10-gauge magnum barrel for my Thompson-Center TCR-87's. I think without a scope a TCR-87 with 10-gauge barrel weighs a little over 7 pounds and its recoil is really something when using 2-1/4 ounce loads. Between shooting the 10-gauge barrel on that TCR-87 with full loads and a .50-140 Sharps barrel, the stock eventually cracked. The 10-gauge barrel is usable with 1-1/2 ounce handloads which pattern real tight with the turkey choke tube Briley made for it, and I added a compact scope which increased the weight a little. Recoil is not bad with those loads. [size=78%]Also, I had a cylinder choke tube made for it and shot a 50-yard group with the Federal 1-3/4 ounce slugs which give 1-foot patterns at that distance in my MAG-10. They also gave 1-foot patterns in the TCR-87 at 50 yards, and recoil was really bad.[/size]
