Wearing Glasses
« on: March 31, 2013, 02:33:33 PM »
I recently started wearing no-line bifocals and found I couldn't hit anything while wearing them.  I found one of my old pairs of 1.25+ reading glasses and put a cord on them to keep them from sliding down my nose.  This has worked out great.  You might give it a try.

I've worn progressive by focal glasses for years now.  :o don't give up Swampy, you'll get used to them. It's all in how you tilt your head.
When you get your eye exam tell the eye doctor what shooting sports you are involved in and they can place the reading portion so as not to interfere with you seeing your sights or in instinctive bow shooting the depth perception.  ;)

I carry reading glasses in my hunting pack. I often wear my contacts while hunting or even out stumping. I find I can see distance and shoot better with the added sharpness and clarity that contacts have over glasses(at least for me). I find binocs easier to use as well when wearing contacts. The downside is I can't see SQUAT close up and if I need close up work like filling out a hunting tag after a successful shot I NEED those readers. Of course I have readers in my Jeep, shop, desk and a couple of drawers around the house as well! I should get some Croakies for my readers that I have in my pack so I don't set them down and lose them! They may come in handy while trying to read my GPS while wandering in the dark trying to find the old rust bucket. ::)

Larger lenses will help with no line bifocals also.  You should have seen the first time my friend landed with them.....never hit so hard and bounced so high in my life.
