Today was opening day in my area of the state. I only saw hens this morning from my blind, but the toms were out in the wheat field this evening. I drove almost right into them as I was driving to my spot. I backed-off 60 yrds around a corner of the wooded fence row and crawled back around to see if they stayed. Sure enough they did. A little crawling and calling action paid off 20 min later when the gaggle of toms walked right to me. I took the first one to show his head while I was laying prone in the 12" wheat. I was really surprised to stand up and see the others stunned and just sitting there watching me. I should have shot another one, but that would mean the wife would obligate the rest of my hunting time.
I'll post some pics tomorrow when I've had a chance to pull them off the sd card.
Thanks, Dinny
