If the founders were such devout Christians and had such easy access to the bible, in whatever form, then why, in the entire Constitution, are there NO quotes from that bible? In fact, great effort was taken NOT to quote the bible. I notice that some people on this board can not post more than twice without some sort of reference or quote from the bible. Were the founders just not as devout as you all? The quotes were accidentally left out? By ALL of the founders? Or was it that they wanted NO religious influence in the workings of politics? Do you not think that they were simply trying to set up a morally upright, secular system, without being overly influenced by any one religious group?
