Looking for  opinions  for the best replacement trigger for Stevens 200 .223.,Absolutely hate the factory trigger. Gunsmiths in area wont touch the factory trigger, told me replacement was best option.   Rifle Basix or Timney?

I went with Basix for my Axis, less $ than Timney, and is super simple to install. They have two models, one for hunting and one for target shooters that go down to something in the oz for adjustment.

I have not tried a Timney, but I have several Rifle Basix triggers. I can highly recommend the Rifle Basix triggers. I have one Sharp Shooter Supply trigger and it is a very good trigger too. The problem with them is communication. they will not answer a phone or answer an e-mail. they will take your money, but it is a crap shoot when they deliver the product. In light of that, I would positively go Rifle Basix. See the Axis field report a little lower here. That rifle has a standard Rifle Basix trigger in it.

The SharpShooter Supply competition trigger is the best that I have used in four Savage/Stevens builds.
This trigger is currently available from Brownell's.

When you decide to go with a different trigger order it.  Then work on the factory trigger.  I have yet to have a Savage trigger that I couldn't get below 2-3/4 pounds with a little work.  I'm not smith by any means but the triggers are good DIY jobs for those willing to try.

I switched to a Rifle Basix trigger on my Stevens 200 in 25-06.  I also dropped it in a Keystone Thumbhole stock I ordered from Cabela's.  I chucked that plastic thing.

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

When I have had to replace a trigger I always went with a jewel and never had a complaint.  Jim
