375 win. brass
« on: February 20, 2004, 07:15:14 AM »
I know they say not to use 375 win. ammo in a 38-55 but have heard that you can use the 375 win brass in a 38-55 if you stick to 38-55 loading data. The only reason I ask is my Dad as a 375 win and a bunch of brass. I'm getting a 38-55 barrel for my handi and wondered if I could use his brass.

At least according to NRA,using 375Win in 38/55=bad idea:too thick.
Scuttlebutt has it, that you can use 30/30 brass[necked upto.375] with projectile seated out[to make up shorter case length]in a 38/55.30/30 came from 38/55[parent case].
Supposedly Starline is planning to come out with 38/55 brass.
If I had my druthers,I wish the Contender had been in 38/55,rather than 375Win.
