Young Bikers & black & silver, or black & white Flags
« on: April 12, 2013, 09:52:57 PM »
What's up with these black and silver, and black and white American flag patches, that these younger bikers (mostly Harley riders). I looked them up, and their basically "protest flags". Kinda like burning the flag I guess. They stand for everything from "recession" to "anti-government", to black rappers way of protesting American values.
I asked one today, and he said he wanted every thing black with his harley. I told him that "Ole Glory" was red, white, and blue, and that his was a slap in the face of every soldier, police officer, and fireman that had given their all for what that flag represents.
He said he didn't care, it looked Kool with his other patches and harley. >:(

Some tender faces out here just looking to be slapped, looking for offense where none is offered. Those, in particular, could use a good hard smack across the beak.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

If the rode Guzzis, they'd need their suspenders popped!  ;)

If I had to google it, I guess I'm not that offended by it.
I'm more upset by the % of Americans that voted the current POTUS back into off for the continued destruction of this once great country than the teenaged angst in a made in ChiCom patch on a Paki made jacket.

Well, actually these aren't teenagers, but grown men in their late 20s and early 40s. I asked a couple more last night if they knew what the flag meant and they just looked at each other a d me. When I told them they didn't seem to care.

We have bikers who also like to come off as rouge Oakand Raider's fans.  Black and silver flags seem to be very popular........doesn't matter what the true colors represent........it's so cool to be bad.......bunch of wussies.

So red, white, and blue is out? And black, white, and silver is in? I personally think your example of "grayscale ART" is just that. ART!
Our FLAG, our SYMBOL of Freedom is red, white, and blue. It seem that many thru lack of understanding, are willing to desecrate our freedom, and our symbols of "freedom and sacrifice" for the perpose of FASHION. Not me.

The colors on the flag may not represent any particular attribute.  However, the flag and all its colors as a whole do to me.  Even in gray scale (a form of printing) I can imagine the red white and blue.  I think to intentionally display the flag in  other  colors is disrespectful to our country.

Dee,
You have to just tell them it is the biker equal to the rainbow flag.  It means they are a gay biker, and if they are that is OK but you just wanted to let them know.  It will run rampant and will end the black and white flags everywhere except Oakland where they think the Black and Silver flages are Raider Nation.
But on the same note current army uniform flags are blak and olive / khaki.

After searching the internet, I see the black and gray flag is a symbol of protest against our (so called) leaders and the recession.  I still say it is BS.

don't pay any attention to those wannabees.
they're the same type that holler "ricegrinder!"
with all the chi-com and korean chrome and
crap on their new almost-a-real-harley.
invite some of them to go on an all day
ride at interstate speeds instead of running
though the gears on some farm road.
that'll weed out a few of them, and they'll
go back to being the bar-hopping posers
that they are.
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

Ranger I don't think you could have described most of'em much better, and I hear-I'm gonna have to keep my mouth shut as I'm told some of'em go to a friends church, and wear Patriot Guard Riders patches. What a contradiction that is. Holdin an American flag, and wearing one that desecrates the one their holdin. I may move to a cave.

I've seen them in drab colors like brown and green and thought it was just for military.  camo flag patches for the soldiers.. never saw one in black and white or any other color and I ride with  lot of different people. I guess if I saw one it wouldn't offend me unless the guy wearing it was giving me a reason to be offended... I thought about buying one of the "camo" flag patches once just because I thought they were different and "cool", not to offend anyone. I wasn't sure what the meaning of it was so I chose red white and blue and that's the way I like it....
on the other hand I thought about having one stitched upside down. not to offend our military or anyone else, but to show that our country is in dire distress until the current administration gets impeached and deported...... chris
