Florida teacher tells fourth-graders to give up constitutional rights, report says  Published April 13, 2013

A Florida father says he was shocked to find a note in his fourth-grade son's backpack suggesting that his teacher instructed students to write letters on their willingness to give up their constitutional rights.
Aaron Harvey told WOKV.com that his 10-year-old son was told to write a note reading, "I am willing to give up some of my constitutional rights in order to be safer or more secure," after a civics lesson at the end of last year.
 
Harvey said he found the note earlier this month and obtained the curriculum guide for the lesson, which he said was geared toward helping students "determine their opinions on which rights they value most and least," the report states.
He told the station that his son's teacher instructed several students in the class to write the statement and sign it. He said the story was corroborated by other parents with children in the class.
 
Harvey, a military veteran, told FirstCoastNews.com he thinks the statement reflects the teacher's personal opinion.
"I don't believe that any American or American child should be asked to write this," he said.
Duval County Public Schools issued a statement Friday to FirstCoastNews.com in which they said the lesson was consistent with the district's "efforts to broaden civics-based education and develop critical thinking skills among our students."
"The lesson builds awareness of First Amendment rights through a partnership with an association of local attorneys. Our possible concern rests with a follow-up activity that may have been conducted after the lesson," the statement read.

what i don't understand is why people like that don't voluntarily give up THEIR rights as an example.


they want ME and YOU to surrender OUR rights, but they, not theirs...

It all has to do with the government conditioning people to accept the fact that they are not free, and they must submit to draconian laws for their own safety. Keep people ignorant of the fact that they are a free people, and the centralized state can easier have all say so in how their subjects conduct their lifes. Proof of this happening is looking at who we vote to represent us. People are so willing anymore to vote for those who are so willing to remove more of our freedoms in the exchange for perceived safety, and goodies.
Government knows that to be able to have power over people they have to be conditioned, and at what better time than when minds are young. Look at what is taught and not taught in our schools anymore. Look at how our children are being policed in schools. Along with the zero tolerance rules.
One of our biggest mistakes was letting government get involved in educating our children, using our own money to work their evil.
It started out as good intentions with tax payer money to fund schools, but as time goes on it has changed from education to indoctrination. As the saying goes. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions"   
Now parents are applauding the fact that Obama is starting Government run pre schools. They have everything in place to eventually have total control over citizens. They have the centralized state injecting money and their do as we say control, because of the money. Then they have the teacher unions supporting everything injected by the state. Most of all they have any thought of God, or any teaching of morality completely removed.     
 They just have to condition a couple more generations, and what better way than to train em while their young. More proof of this process is to look at the last couple generations that came out of our indoctrination institutes.
