I've never cared for the plain black synthetic stocks. I'm too cheap to have one dipped and I wasn't sure I would be satisfied with a paint job. I found the Mossy Oak gun skin (this one is Obsession) and bought it off Amazon for $23. The kit is for the whole gun but I only wanted it for the stock set. All you need is a heat gun (mine came from Harbor Freight $8), sharp pair of scissors, and an exacto knife or new razor blade. There's a 10 minute video on their site on how to put the skin on.
The skin is a little slicker than the plain stock but you can still feel the texture. There are a few places it wrinkled but I expected that. There is a seam on the stock I think I could have avoided if I'd matched up the two stock pieces so the pattern was closer before I started. I also learned you need to get all the skin out of the sling post holes otherwise the skin binds when you put them in. On the next one I will not do the spacer again, it was a pain. I'll cut it off so it looks like a spacer on a wood forearm.
I'm very happy with the results. An hour well spent on a Sunday afternoon.
