Looking for a light load for encore?

Anyone have any recommendations for a light recoiling deer load out of a 50 cal. encore for my teenage son. Shots will be less then 100 yards.

Can he handle 100 grains (two pellets) of T7, under a 240 grain saboted bullet (T/C Cheap shots)?  The load is devastating on deer.

My kids used that load for hunting, of course their older and bigger now, but that's what they started with, and they didn't complain about excessive recoil.

Thanks I use 90grs of blackhorn 209 and a 250gr hornady bullet for me, but was looking for something a little lighter.

try 80gr of pyrodex and a 240gr xtp in a Harvester sabot
its a nice mild load let your son shot a lot of 60gr loads
on paper when its hunting time resight it in with  80gr

If dimensions and L.O.P. are OK, try it with a FlexTech stock on the Encore. Makes a difference. I also use about the same load as you with the Blackhorn and 240Grain XTP.

LOP is fine and it has a flex tech stock. I'm starting to worder if it is the report of the gun thats doing it.

Don't know the twist rate in an Encore 50 barrel. If it is slow enough to handle round balls....probably not judging on the recommendations so far.....but a lead round ball atop 60 gains of FFg will work nicely within the range specified.

My fast twist inline still shoots a patched ball well out to 75 yards.  Groups only start to open about 2" or so at 100 yards.  8)

Could very well be, especially if he isn't wearing hearing protection...
 
Like these guys mentioned, get down to 70-80grs, that's all that's really needed...The old 45/70 was a .45 caliber bullet over 70grs of black powder...Of course, that bullet weighed 405grs, so she did kick... :)
