My "new" canoe gun
« on: April 17, 2013, 11:30:46 AM »
Hi All

Well I bought this TC Renegade 56 smoothbore a while back for 100. It was pretty beat up.

Kept saying to myself,"Self, this would make a cool canoe gun."

So today I took the barrel and cut it to 18 1/8 inches long, recrowned and blued the end and added a new dovetail for the sight.

It feels much more handy now, can't wait to shoot it.

What do you think folks?

Looks GREAT! you did a very professional job on that barrel. Am interested in your groups or patterns once you get to shoot it.  j

Don't forget the parachute cord.
My first duck hunt out of a canoe, my Uncle handed me a 6 foot section of Parachute cord.  I asked what it was for, He said you tie it to your trigger guard, then tie it to a thawrt.  If we flip over we pull the guns back in the boat and do not have to dive in the swamp hoping to find our guns.
Other than that, really cool smooth bore.

That looks really cool!  What a great gun for a stroll in the woods.

Be sure to let us know how it shoots with birdshot, buckshot and round balls!   ;D
