They've had their say, now make them pay
« on: April 18, 2013, 05:47:43 AM »
We all celebrate our victory over the gun control zealots but let us not forget it was a very narrow victory and Dems are already calling it just round one. It was a victory only in the sense that none of the proposed amendments got the needed 60 votes but most of them did get a majority, anywhere from 52-58 votes. That is encouraging to the gun control crowd, they came close to winning. We must remember that nearly all Democraps and several Returdlicans need to be punished in the next election. The Democrap party as a whole needs to be punished. While I generally agree that it is not wise to be a "single issue voter" I feel the second amendment stands as a bell weather as to how politicians view all civil liberties and that is one issue which must not be sacrificed for the perceived common good, that is one issue on which we must stand united and unwavering.

I agree. In fact I've felt for a lot of years that everyone of them, Democrat and Republican, needs thrown out. It's not just gun control, it's everything they do. We have a government pretty much immune to all the laws they make us follow. We have a government that can't come up with a budget in how many years? And one cut they won't make is their own pay and benefit's. We don't really need any of them. We do need to let them know who they are responsible to though. That will never happen so long as they keep America's parasites happy! It's a lot more than a simple right to own guns!

I'm pretty close to being one.

How many here voted for Gary Johnson?

None of those four Democrats are from my state, the two Colorado Democraps support any and every form of gun control just as did ALL of the Democraps in our state legislature who inflicted pointless and stupid laws on us without any regard to all of the protesters who testified against these measures including the majority of our county sheriffs. And yes, I voted for Gary Johnson. I filled out one of those questionnaires which asked a series of questions and then compaired my answers to the answers given by the candidates and it showed I was 80% in agreement with Gary Johnson and that was the first time I ever saw his name. I forwarded that questionnaire to a friend who emailed back "who the hell is Gary Johnson?"

I am a one issue voter. All I need to hear from a candidate is their stance on the right to keep and bear arms. If they say they are against it or say garbage like they are pro 2nd amendment but they also support "common sense" gun control measures  then I dont need to hear anything else from them on any other issue because if they want to deny or control my 2nd amendment rights then there is an excellent chance that they also wish to regulate and micromanage every other aspect of my life.

Totally true Lakota. And about "common sense", I find it amazing that people advocate laws which they admit would not have prevented the mass shootings, will do nothing to make schools safer, will not reduce crime, will take money and resorces needed and better spent elsewhere, will only penalize law abiding citizens who have done no wrong and they call that "common sense".

Doesn't matter what a dem SAYS. As long as they support the dem party they support the anti gun, anti God, pro death, and pro gay agenda. A definite no vote for me. POWDERMAN.

If the game were so simple that you could just vote for the ones who you think stand for your principles and ignore who realistically stands a chance of beating the gun-grabbing, Constitution hating Dumycrats, voting would be so simple.  Too bad that in the real world of poly tix, we sometimes have to hold our nose and vote in order to fight off the dedicated enemies of freedom--the Dumycrats.  I guarantee you that liberals don't let principles get in their way.

Haven't had to hold my nose for the last several elections ;) And, I did vote for Johnson for President.

Question for Powderman.........Would you have voted for the late Larry McDonald. Democrat from Ga. if he had lived and ran for President?  I say (late) His body and the wreckage from flight 707 was never recovered. If you haven't heard of or don't remember him, do yourself a favor and do a Google search.

Being a one issue voter should not be something of which to be proud.
If you give up, THEY don't have to win.

The Founding Fathers had complete access to the Bible, but they came up with the Constitution as our governing document.

As Chung said above, being a one issue voter is not something to be proud of.  That is good advice, and I will back the vote by  Democrats who voted against B Hussein's wishes on gun snatching.  I will also back the Republicans on the same vote if they performed correctly.
Being neither Democrat or Republican and not a "single issue" voter, come election time I will add up the things I am concerned with... Guns, God, abortion, spending, taxes, growing government etc..  check off yes or no for each...and cast my vote according to the score any candidate of potential candidate earns.
Chances are, the Tea Party will get a large share of my votes.

What we need are term limits!

People like po-lunacy, fart-stein, lountenburg, shummer, etc will never go away unless we have a way to lock them out.

I'm in favor of 3 terms for a Representative or Senator, then they must enter the private sector for 20 years before they could run for political office or accept a political appointment.  Lobbyist or advisor to any political entity would not count as private sector.

Sadly, how would we enact such a law?

In political terms it would be great if this ammo shortage extended to the next couple of elections.  I belive we would see an unprecented number of pro gun votres and many anti gun politicians would go out the door.

HUNTER. NO Sir, I would not have because he still would have supported the party of death, supporting killing babies and pervert marriage, both abominations in Gods eyes.

Matter of fact I told a local dem, now our state rep, the same thing. He too claimed to be pro 2nd amendment. Dems cannot be believed concerning the 2nd, it's too important to play games with.
Last dem I voted for I knew personally and talked to often. He assured me he was for everything I was for, against everything I was against. He won, then did the opposite what he said. Next election he lost 3-1. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

Well, in the last two elections it helped by not giving the communist a larger margin of victory and maybe a little less claim of a mandate.

I would ask the question:  What has voting for a candidate who virtually had no chance of winning done for anyone?  I'll answer that.  It helped to give us a Constitution hating, spendaholic, petulant anti-gun, anti-freedom lying bastard of an infection on our country.

That's a great strategy, demand mediocrity. Your candidate will still lose but if everyone holds their noses he will lose by a smaller margin.

During the last election we were going up against a gun grabber with an F rating by the GOA. We had 4 choices as gun owners to run against this socialist dictator - a candidate with a D- rating from the GOA, a candidate with a C rating from the GOA, a candidate with a B+ rating from the GOA and a candidate with an A+ rating from the GOA.

Using the "hold your nose" strategy we decided that the only "electable" candidate was the one with the D- rating from the GOA. We ignored the 2nd Amendment in the name of the "hold your nose" strategy. This piss poor candidate predictably lost anyway and now here we are complaining about the loss of our 2nd Amendment rights when we ourselves are willing to vote for a candidate who signed an assault weapons ban.

We now have a template that says that running anti-2nd Amendment RINOs like Juan McAmnesty and Mitt Obamney is a losing proposition. That is a fact. Judging by the record gun sales for the last 4 years I'd say there are plenty of Americans who like the 2nd Amendment. Wouldn't it be better to take a chance on a pro-2nd candidate rather than a going with the same ol' same ol' liberal RINO?

Let me put it like this. Mn. just last month failed to pass any gun control measures. There is no question where the sentiments of the people lie. However both Senators tried to pass gun control measures clearly NOT representing the people of this state.

They absolutely do not represent me, they do not represent the majority of Minnesotans. The vote was not even close, here at home or in DC.

These two NON representatives need to be fired.
