8th grader suspended from school & arrested over NRA T-shirt
« on: April 21, 2013, 02:23:23 AM »
When 8th grade Jared Marcum got dressed for school on Thursday he says he had no idea that his pro-Second Amendment shirt would initiate what he calls a fight over his First Amendment rights.
"I never thought it would go this far because honestly I don't see a problem with this, there shouldn't be a problem with this," Jared said.
It was the image of a gun printed on Jared's t-shirt that sparked a dispute between a Logan Middle School teacher and Jared, that ended with Jared suspended, arrested and facing two charges, obstruction and disturbing the by CouponDropDown">education process, on his otherwise spotless record.

Stories like this should make it clear to people that the attack is not just on 2nd Amendment rights, but ALL of the Constitutional rights.

there's some serious nuttitude out there. Is it my imagination, or are middle school teaching in particular, kind of wacky?
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Most mental training that will stick with children for life  is done by 9 years of age, morals and basic beliefs.  As the children get older tactics turn to peer pressure and fear pressure. The pressure changes from internal to external. From indoctrination to incarceration.

Thats correct, and those basic beliefs that are being taught are soaked with liberalism. The whole idea of the "Guns are bad" teaching is, for when these kids become adults, and government says guns are bad, guns are the reason for crime and murder, we have to rid society of them. These pre indoctrinated people will be much more willing to say "good idea lets rid ourselves of these bad guns"
Really I don't think it has as much to do with stupidity, but more to do with a plan, and we continue to be happy that government has infiltrated our schools by stealing our money, and then pretending to do good with it by so called educating our children. Along with government money, their ideas on how to mold us into subjects are injected.

As worrisome as the teacher appears I'm baffled that the police even arrested him, presuming that there were no threats or violence involved.

I posted earlier , or tried to and it went st8 to "forbidden" land.(whats up with that)

Whats up with middle school teachers and t shirts, this isn't the first time I have seen where a youngster was singled out for having a rifle on his shirt. Che Guevara, or hugo chavez is OK but not a rifle. Wonder if hammer and cycles, or alla and infidels are allowed. These Teachers seem to be making themselves expendable as far a needing them to teach our kids is concerned.

I would like to learn more about exactly what went on there!

Some people have allowed GOD to be removed from our schools and allowed teaching that homosexuality and abortion are OK there isn't much I would be suprized to see happen.

Well oh enlightened one.  I raised more KIds than you got guns. This aint my first BBQ. It starts with a teacher and has in the past. Did ya read the part where the parent said he found no restriction on a rifle being on a shirt. The Teacher and the school board seem to have a problem with The NRA. Do You? You seem to pick out my post to correct. Did ya see the part where I said I want to see more about this. What was it? Did the  Che Guevara, or hugo chavez thing get your goat!   ::)

Boy returns to school WITH his shirt.

West Virginia teen arrested over NRA shirt returns to class  Published April 22, 2013
Associated Press   CHARLESTON, W.Va. –  A West Virginia teenager returned to class Monday wearing the same National Rifle Association T-shirt that led to his suspension and arrest after he refused a teacher's order last week to remove it.
Other students across Logan County wore similar shirts, which display the NRA logo and a hunting rifle, to school in a show of support for 14-year-old Jared Marcum, said his lawyer Ben White.
White said school officials told him on Monday that Marcum's one-day suspension was appropriate because the Logan Middle School eighth-grader was being disruptive. White disputed that position, saying Marcum was exercising his free speech rights and did not disrupt anything.

"Their version is that the suspension was for disrupting the educational process, not the shirt," White said in a telephone interview.
"I don't see how he materially disrupted the educational process," he said.
Logan County Schools Superintendent Wilma Zigmond didn't immediately return a telephone message Monday
Marcum's stepfather, Allen Larieris, said Sunday that the teen was waiting in line in the school cafeteria last Thursday when a teacher ordered him to remove the T-shirt or turn it inside out.

White said Marcum was expressing his support for the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms by wearing the shirt, which he said did not violate the school's dress code.
"We at this point believe that Jared acted as mature as a 14-year-old child can act with the pressure that was put on him," White said.
Logan County Schools' dress code, which is posted on the school system's website, prohibits clothing and accessories that display profanity, violence, discriminatory messages or sexually suggestive phrases. Clothing displaying advertisements for any alcohol, tobacco, or drug product also is prohibited.

Logan police arrested Marcum, 14, after he was sent to the school office and again refused to remove the shirt. Marcum has said that he was arrested on charges of disrupting an educational process and obstructing an officer, though White said Monday that the Logan County prosecutor's office is reviewing the case to decide whether to proceed.
The Associated Press typically does not identify juveniles who face criminal charges, but Marcum and his family wanted his name and case known.

He was arrested by the nanny officer for 'Disruption of the Educational Process.'   He should have told the nanny officer the T-shirt needs to stay on.  By removing it it would be disrupting his education in the constitution.  He can read it and reflect on it when he is at the donut shop.   ;)
Study after study has shown how dangerous distracted driving is yet people continue to talk on their cell phones while driving. Driving in the U.S. requires your full attention. Many states and countries have made it illegal to use a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle and the federal government should follow their lead. Banning the use of cell phones while driving would have the added benefit of making the no-texting law enforceable.

This  kind of oppression of white and conservative students has been going on for a long time.

IN California for years kids have been suspended/disciplined for displaying American flag cothing, etc. because it "offended" the Mexicans.   A group of Mexican high schoolers  actually hauled down the American flag and replaced it with the Mexican flag at Montebello High School in LA County.

In other instances,  American kids have been singled out for racially motivated violence by "minorities"  for displaying American flags, patriotic sayings... etc.

In Texas, an entire school was scolded for chanting "USA, USA" at a basket ball game.  We are being outlawed in our own country by these "people"  and the leadership of both political parties is demanding  a "path to citizenship" for millions of them so that the rate  of  white dispossession and ethnic cleansing can be accelerated.

The persecution of this 8th grader is the tip of the ice berg and the shape of things to come.
