Now that S & W has taken over TC, do they still put out special "one of a Kind" barrels for member's and if so how often?  What are some of the other advantages to belonging to this organization?

There has not been any specials made by TC (S&W) since the move to the S&W plant.

There have been specials offered a few times that were done by MGM.  The one just offered was a 17" barrel in a caliber of your choice in blue or stainless with a scope mount, price was a good deal.

You get a pretty good magazine 4 times a year and some good deals on unique stuff.  Hopefully the unique stuff will get more regular, S&W says they are going to start doing that stuff again, only time will tell.

Like Bullseye said S&W (T/C) have not yet been able to do anything "special" for the TCA but in the current issue of One Good Shot it sounds like they will be again soon.
MGM has done a number of specials for the group. This current one is a 16 1/4" barrel with MGM base of anything Contender or Encore less 22 & 30 cal chambers.
The one in the fall issue was any barrel up to 17" with twisted octagon for the same cost as the standard blue carbine barrels.
I got the 17" blue Contender in 20 Vartarg Turbo. Awesome looking barrel.Wished I would have bought more.
Also another thing that the TCA does is offer special raffles for some pretty nice T/C items. One of them being one of the prototype 22 PPC Contender barrels that T/C sent out to gun writers in 1976. I won that barrel so that one win to me covered the cost of being a member since 1996.
Also there is a classified ad section where members sell and put want ads for items that they have for sale or looking for. I just snagged the flatside Contender that I needed to complete my set of only 10 made.
You need to join. Well worth the $30 per year.
Justin
