CW,
Are you familiar with the Crosman Backpacker Model 1389?
If so how does it compare with the Model 1377?
The 1398 was a older model with a 14'' barrel in 22 cal. Pretty much the same gun, only with a butt stock, different pump handle, longer barrel and of coarse, 22 cal. Good gun!
Today, you will have to but the Crosman''bug out'' kit. This gets you a butt stock, a 22cal 12'' barrel, a tin of pellets and some little things. 75$ at Pyramid Air.
Velocity wise, its just a bit slower, say 420-440fps BUT with a 50% heavier pellet.
I was considering one myself... went so far as to make out a order... Decided not to as all I would really get was a 22 cal.... I have a 22 cal RWS 34 that shoots faster, and hits harder with a scope on it.
I like the 177 for this project so I called up Crosman and ordered a 18'' barrel... 22$! LOL so when it arrives It will look like ibgp3's 2260. Only in .177, with the FTP/V assembly and the barrel I should have some respectable velocities.
My 1377 arrived, and everything looks great...
....but the bolt won't go back and when I work the pump the air bleeds off with each stroke.
I went through the users manual and got nothing.
Is there a bleed mode?
For the bolt, be sure the screws are not binding, there are two, one tiny one under the bolt.. BE CAREFUL!! Be sure you have the correct sized allen and be certain it is fully and completely inserted before removing. IT IS EASILY STRIPPED!
For the valve, its probably related. Once you get the bolt free it will likly work fine. You may need to remove the breech. I am betting it is somehow jambing the hammer.
A take down can be seen on you tube, if needed. Its pretty easy. Ill help too if you would like. PM or email me. cwlongshot@att.net
