SAME HERE BROTHER!!  Also as scarce as ammo is I don't worry about using up ammo that I can not restock!!  Pellets are cheap, shooting keeps me sharp and pellets are plentiful!

LOL. Sorry brother!!! LOL

Well I received my order I placed with Crosman for some spare parts and a 24" .177 barrel.

I decided on my favorite handi length of 17". Also this have me 7" to use on my 2240 postol. If I want to convert it to .177!

I tried the barrel on my drill press with a file and finished it off with some 400g paper. Then using a brass wood screw and some paste valve grinding compound I put a nice crown on it.

Then mounted it in the breech and the whole assembly onto the gun. My first shot was 1/4" right of dead center!!!!  Subsiquent shots proved accuracy has remained. 10 pellets into a quarter inch at 30'.

I'm making the trip to my place in upstate NY this weekend. I'll be bringing the air powered guns and my chrono. I intend to see just what velocities I'm attaining with a couple different lellet weights. I'm hoping to see 700 fps.

I also picked up a couple brass parts.

Nice looking airgun.

...and warriors have always put bling on their favorite weapons.

I've played with mine enough to know that it isn't what I want for a subsistence hunter.
When I sit up and start pumping I spook the rest of the flock.

The disco pcp tube will go in the closet for a time. ( I don't have a pump )
The receiver, barrel and shroud will go on a 2240 for evaluation.
There are all of the parts except a barrel for .177 and .22. (I already had the other barrel)
...I may ask BNM if there is a .25 adapter for the receiver.
I don't like the looks of the shroud, but if it performs as advertised, I'll probably want it.
.....if I don't want the shroud it'll probably find a new home.

Just setting up, evaluating, and  testing will be a lot of hobby for a while.
...then there is PCP

I have been very impressed with the sound supression from the marauders. If that's what that shroud does, you will most defineately like it!

If I am buying a .25 barrel from Track-of-the-Wolf I have two bore choices: .243 and .250.
Do you know if one is right or better?
.25 Colt Auto, .243" bore, .250" groove
.25-20 cartridge, .250" bore, .257" groove
...may buy both and do some sperimintin'.

This could turn into an obsession.

That's name land for me brother.  I don't have a answer for you.

All I can say is if I was buying a PCP for hunting it would be a 25 or 35.

I'm with you on that, but there is a difference between
buying ( there it is, what can you do with it?)
  and
building (try this, no, I liked the other better.)

Which is one big reason to love the Crosman Legos.

I put the chronograph on the 1377
It was modded before I got it
....and I wanted to see how much difference had been made.
 5 pumps - 527 fps
 7 pumps - 575 fps
 8 pumps - 635 fps
10 pumps - 682 fps
12 pumps - 715 fps
14 pumps - 750 fps

Something works.
I know it has a flat faced piston and a strong spring.

Anything I ought to know before I pump it higher?

I was able to spend some time running a bunch of pellets thru all my guns yesterday!

1) I got 770 + fps with 20 pumps and a BEEMAN Laser pellet 7.2g

2) I got 748fps with 17 pumps and a Crosman Destroyer pellet 8g

3) I got 620 + fps with 20 pumps and a Exact Monster pellet of 13.2 g

4) I got 600+ fps form 14 pumps and another Exact Diablo pellet of 11g

At first I found I was topping out at 500fps W/11g pellet. I was getting that was SAME velocity from 10-17 pumps! So, I pulled piston out, pulled off O rings and checked head space. I found a bad O ring and head space off!! I re adjusted, lubed and installed new O rings and tested again. Velocity jumped to numbers quoted above.  :P ;)

Looks like the FTP netted me about a 15% increase in velocity. A bit short of the 100fps claims. But being able to pump additional times makes it worthwhile. I still need to pin this valve and that will boost vel more.

Ooh and if I am figuring it correctly the 7g pellet nets me 10 fpE and the 13g 16 fpE!  :-\ :-* :-\ :-* :-\ :-*

Quoted as on it when I got it:
-Crosman 1377
-Barska Plinker-22 4x32 Scope
-6 1/8" Aluminum Suppressor (bare finish)
-16" Barrel
-Crosman Steel Breech
-Crosman Stock
-Crosmods Flat Top Piston
-Viton Duro 90 O-Rings
-Airgunsmith Modified/Ported Valve
-Pin Kit
-Extended Bolt
The pellet was a crosman pointed field hunter 7.4gr
Another difference might be the Chronograph.
I'm using a magnetic bayonet unit, so my readings are at the muzzle,
...not 10-15 feet away from the muzzle.
My plan was to do 3 loads at each number of pumps,
...but, it took about 25 shots to get the chrono matched to the pellets.
By that point I was soaked in sweat and tired of the process.
...maybe today I will go back and do the original plan.

Two things I really like are
500+fps for 5 pumps - easy target
750 fps for a hunter.

If the pellet didn't seat right (noticeable) the velocity was reduced.

3pumps  408-382-408       ->3 pumps 408*408*7.4/450240 = 2.7fpe
4pumps  473-460-458
5pumps  536-532-498-531
6pumps  526-570-573
7pumps  608-609-595
8pumps  615-611-638
9pumps  636-669-676
10pumps  694-641-682
11pumps  692-705-710
12pumps  732-726-722
13pumps  711-748-714
14pumps  757-730-738
15pumps  770                ->15 pumps 770*770*7.4/450240 = 9.7fpe

I suspect that my next test will be for a pellet that seats the same each time.
Then do this again.
