Geeze, you can buy a new barrel for just a little more. If they're talking about the same bluing that comes on factory barrels, that's no bargain. I'd have it done locally. I see some H&R bluing that is deep and rich, and some others barely cover the steel below. If I were you, I think I'd shop that one around. I seldom slam H&R. I've almost gotten into fights with people defending them, but the factory bluing needs improvement. I have a couple of "off the shelf" Handis that almost look Parkerized gray for all steel showing through the grainy thin bluing. I've got to say, whenever any of these parts went back to H&R for service or repair, they came back beautiful.
