Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Point is- it's as factual as some of the anti-liberal stuff I've read here.

Anything ever said about Dumya that people don't like automatically become lies on here, but the same ones immediately jump on any anti-Obama BS  as automatically proven facts.  You guys condemned Obama before he was elected and before he had done or not done anything as President. I'd like to see some of you quit whining about him and please come up with someone who can actually fix America's problems and come up with some some real ideas for a change.

Wait. I just need to understand your point. 5 years, two elections and 12 trillion dollars of additional debt and it's STILL Bush's fault?

The article is so far removed from the truth it shouldn't even have been published on the net. While I have issues with some of the things Bush did while in office, like repeal of the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, but I also recognize, as do others, when someone is just out to slander the man. You can find a lot of things about Bush I'm sure that are the truth that wouldn't show him a favorable light but lies are just beneath all of us.

I don't see anywhere where Bush is being blamed for anything, just pointing out the fact that Bush and Cheney were draft dodgers, but didn't hesitate sending others to do the noble thing.

I figure the more and longer they bash Bush only supports the fact he was a good maybe great president. If he wasn't they would not spend so much effort bashing him trying to make their poor choice seem better.
So he was in the Guard , they could get called up . He didn't go to Canada.

Bush was never in any danger of going to Vietnam, and anyone with any sense knows that, as were none of the farmer's sons where I live. They all got agricultural exemptions. A lot of young men from my small town went, but not one single farmers son went. Their fathers had money. Lots of money. Hmmm. I had two family members that went (one twice), and came back with the same attitude: Vietnam was not being fought to win!
At the time I could not pass the physical when I was called. Had I have passed, I would have went, I would not have run like some did. Were they wrong to run? I guess knowing the truth NOW, I would have to say no, not really, but I wouldn't depend on the runners in a tight spot.
I NEVER believed we should have went to Iraq, and that it was, and still is, a mistake. My youngest went to Iraq twice, and I resented it then, and now. It changed him in many ways not for the good. He said the Iraqi man was not worth savin, and I agree. When he went to Afghanistan, I prayed he would come home, and he did, but even Afghanistan could have been done much different, and with less cost of lives. We need to get out of there ASAP. It isn't called "The Grave Yard of Empires" for nothing.
Merle Haggard wrote song several years ago that the "liberal news" basically killed. A line in that song was: "Politicians do all the talkin, and the soldier pays the dues". Truer words never spoken. Always have, and always will be that way.

According to that logic- Obama must be a great president. Just look at all the bashing he is receiving.

Bush joined the national guard.  I have a lot of friends who joined to national guard to avoid the unwinable Vietnam war.  No big deal there.  Anyone could join the guard when they got out of high school if they wanted to.  I was also a 4F with ashma and allergies that prevented me from going.  If joining the guard is being a draft dodger, then something is really wrong with that.  Draft dodgers went to Canada and didn't even bother to join the guard, or even the Peace Corp.  Lots of guys back then went to college and got into courses that were specifically designed to exempt you from the draft, like engineering or medicine.  Bush being a draft dodger is a bunch of bunk.  I have a son in the guard, he joined for college assistance, now he has to go to Afganistan to help them pack up to come home.  At least he got two years out of the way.  He went through the same basic training as the army.  He trains on the same vehicles and weapons as the regular army.

Obama never served in any military role, he never worked a real job in real private world.  He is nothing but a lawyer who did community organizing, and doesn't know what and how the real world operates.  Bush is 5 years out now.  This stagnant economy, and socializing of everything from what we eat, to our private health care, etc, is getting old fast.  Bush wasn't perfect, but far better than what we have now.

Only thing on his resume is Commander-in-Chief of largest and best Military in the world. His record wasn't the topic here. Joining the guard is not draft dodging.
But getting in to a full unit because of political or big-money influence when your college deferment is in danger of expiring is different.
Joining the guard in 2000 or later usually meant your ass was in the action whether you were 25 or 45.

But in 2012 you probably supported Romney, who was born into American royalty, with posh jobs and Ryan who had a "real job" of weinie-car driver and then Congress.  How funny

A good business man knows how to delegate authority and to choose the best people to advise him.  Obama just pushes his agenda period, socialism or bust.  Anyone, democrat or republican who gets in his way, he discredits them, or marginalizes them, or replaces them, or lets them get killed.

For the most part, the 1 to 2% always have their kids and selected envoys avoid the wars they start and profit from, (unless involved in ceremony/mil positions). Always have and always will.

Study after study has shown how dangerous distracted driving is yet people continue to talk on their cell phones while driving. Driving in the U.S. requires your full attention. Many states and countries have made it illegal to use a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle and the federal government should follow their lead. Banning the use of cell phones while driving would have the added benefit of making the no-texting law enforceable.

Kimber;
I guess trolling can be fun..but really, but being a confirmed Lefty, you should have picked a better angle of attack.  Naturally people are then going to ask  you to list the military service of the presidents immediately before and after "W".
Here; list the honorable discharges of Obama and Clinton:
   1)
   2)
   3)
   4)
Now,  George W Bush wasn't a war hero, but he did serve in the F-102 Delta Dagger,  which due to it's propensity for crash landings, was called "the Widowmaker" .
If you want a president who was true combat war hero you would have to go back as far as George H W Bush. Of course Bob Dole, another  war hero who ran for prez doesn't count.

Trivia question:  Which president, after much effort and finally successfull in dodging the draft said:  " I the LOATHE military." ?

But this is "old news", same as Clinton and Obama's service record..time to move on...
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

It's always the majority of the poor and less fortunate in society that fight the wars. Always been that way, always will be that way.  Just the way it is. I forget how many deferments Romney's old man was able to pull strings and get for him / I think it was something ridiculous like 5.  It is what it is. They are all the same. I always wondered if congressional leaders had their kids serving if they would be so quick to pull the trigger and commit our young kids.  in the end who cares , ta hell with 'em.

- JOHN FOGERTY - FORTUNATE SON LYRICS

You don't have to be a Senator's son to have gotten out of the draft. I can go to the café here in my little town every morning, and just look on the parking lot at the custom farm pickups, or go inside and look at the John Deere caps sittin around tellin all the little people how the Democrats have always been good to the farmer. Almost all in them in their 60s and 70s and not one single one of them ever wore the uniform, or served a day. But they all know the answers to all our problems. They don't like Republicans, or Independents. They don't like cops because they got a seat belt ticket, or know someone who did, and soldiers get killed in war, cause theY volunteered to go for the benefits they get for life, after the get out. If they live.
You may all go to hell, I will go to Texas. Davy Crockett

I'm pretty sure with his background and lack of a birth certificate Obama could not have gotten into the Navy. His dad was an outspoken communist as was his mother, they hated America and "colonialism".  In fact if it were not for the lefts love affair with liars and lofers he would not have become president.

he probably could have gotten in. Getting a TS clearance (or TS-SPECAT) might have been bumpy.

Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.
