Years ago I read about cops questioning a man at a junk yard. He was there at night and acting strangely. Turns out he had a fishing rod and baited a hook with bacon. He'd cast it out into the junk and wait for a rat to take the bait. He'd reel it in and club it. Got quite a few. It was his hobby just like others would go out fishing for enjoyment.

Never heard of that before.  Probably doesn't make much of a dent in the rat population, but may help a little bit!

Never hunted rats with dogs, but had lots of fun at a garbage dumps shootin em with .22's, and huntin em with pellet rifles, in a barn when they come out to eat the ground cow feed. I guess its still legal to shoot them. Dont know maybe they are protected now, like everything else is.

If Obama and co. get their way we may have to hunt deer that way.  Acorn on a hook attached to a stout  boat rod.  When you reel them in you club them.  And you thought bow hunting was a challenge.

Spruce, Arooooooo! Love them beagles and bunnies. They are great hunting dogs and are the most under rated hunting dogs. I miss my sniffy dawg puppyhound.

 Try squirrel fishing if you want a laugh. Peanut in the shell tied securely to a line (no hook of course). Suckers will get it or die trying. My Son a few years back...
