Israeli warplanes strike Syrian weapons facility, US official says  Published May 04, 2013
FoxNews.com
  •
A Syrian weapons facility was struck early Friday by Israeli warplanes, a U.S. official told Fox News.
A source told Fox News that it is not clear whether the warplanes crossed into Syrian airspace or whether the missiles were fired from across the border.

The strike was confirmed by Israeli officials who said the country's air force targeted a shipment of "game changing" weapons bound for the Lebanese militant Hezbollah group.
One official told The Associated Press the target was a shipment of advanced, long-range ground-to-ground missiles but was not more specific.
They spoke to the news agency Saturday on condition of anonymity because they were discussing a secret military issue.
It was the second Israeli strike this year against Syria and the latest salvo in its long-running effort to disrupt Hezbollah's quest to build an arsenal capable of defending against Israel's air force and spreading destruction inside the Jewish state.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly warned in recent weeks that Israel would be prepared to take military action if chemical weapons or other arms were to reach Hezbollah.
When Israeli planes fired on a weapons convoy inside Syria in January, they remained outside Syrian airspace. The convoy was believed to be carrying Russian SA-17 anti-aircraft missiles.
"Israel is determined to prevent the transfer of chemical weapons or other game-changing weaponry by the Syrian regime to terrorists, specially to Hizbullah in Lebanon," an official from the Israeli Embassy in Washington told Fox News.

Syria's assistant information minister, Khalaf Muftah, told Hezbollah's Manar TV that he has "no information about an aggression that was staged," and said reports of an Israeli air raid "come in the framework of psychological war in preparation of an aggression against Syria."
Israel has targeted weapons in the past that it believes are being delivered to the Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah. Earlier this week, Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah said his group would assist Syrian President Bashar Assad if needed in the effort to put down a 2-year-old uprising.

In 2007, Israeli jets bombed a suspected nuclear reactor site along the Euphrates River in northeastern Syria, an attack that embarrassed and jolted the Assad regime and led to a buildup of the Syrian air defense system. Russia provided the hardware for the defense systems upgrade and continues to be a reliable supplier of military equipment to the Assad regime.

The airstrike, first reported by CNN, came hours before President Barack Obama told reporters at a news conference in Costa Rica on Friday that he didn't foresee a scenario in which the U.S. would send troops to Syria. More than 70,000 peoples have died and hundreds of thousands have fled the country as the Assad regime has battled rebels.
The Israeli strike also follows days of renewed concerns that Syria might be using chemical weapons against opposition forces. Obama has characterized evidence of the use of chemical weapons as a "game-changer" that would have "enormous consequences."
While the U.S. has been providing nonlethal aide to opposition forces in Syria, even stepping up that form of support in recent days, the Obama administration has resisted calls from some American lawmakers to arm the rebels or to work to establish a no-fly zone to aid the insurgency.

On Thursday, however, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said the administration is rethinking its opposition to providing arms to the rebels. He said it was one of several options as the U.S. consults with allies about steps to be taken to drive Assad from power. Officials in the administration who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss strategy said earlier this week that arming the opposition forces was seen as more likely than any other military option.

Obama followed Hagel's comments by saying options will continue to be evaluated, though he did not cite providing arms specifically. Concerns that U.S. weapons could end up in the hands of al-Qaida-linked groups helping the Syrian opposition or other extremists, including Hezbollah, have stood in the way of that change in strategy.
"We want to make sure that we look before we leap and that what we're doing is actually helpful to the situation as opposed to making it more deadly or more complex," Obama said Thursday at a news conference in Mexico.
Pentagon spokesman George Little declined to comment on the report.
Fox News' Jennifer Griffin, James Rosen and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

So when the Palestinians shoot oversize firecracker's into Israel you get your knickers in a knot but when Israel commits an act of war by dropping bombs on a sovereign country you call it justified.
What is the point of Life if you can't have fun.

My neice is still in Israel, she has seen the carnage and damage done by these firecrackers and has had to hide underground while the godless ones play their games. This shipment was LONGER range rockets capable of doing even more damage, but you already know that.
When it comes to Israel you are always on the wrong side.

If you would  take the time to actually READ one of those Bibles you say you have, it might just open your eyes. If you are willing to allow your neighbor to aquire weapons to destroy you, all of your friends and family, shame on ya.   I wouldn't, neither should Gods people. Who do you think alerts Israel to all of these dangers??

Every time satans disciples kick the Lion of Judah they gets their butts whipped. They can surely see that their false god and pediprophet just aint getting the job done. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

If it is an act of war. Then let Syria do something about it.
The same with Palestine.
Go ahead and start something with Israel.
I would love to see Israel wipe both countries from the face of the earth.

Israel launches airstrike on Syria targeting weapons, official says  Published May 05, 2013
FoxNews.com    BEIRUT –  Israel launched its second airstrike in three days in the Syrian capital Sunday targeting a shipment of extremely accurate guided Iranian-made missiles intended for Lebanon's Hezbollah militant group, according to an intelligence official in the Middle East.
The attack, which signaled a sharp escalation of Israel's involvement in Syria's bloody civil war, was confirmed to The Associated Press hours after Syria's state media reported that Israeli missiles struck a research center near Damascus, setting off explosions and causing casualties.

The confirmation came hours after Syria's state media reported that Israeli missiles struck a research center near the Syrian capital, setting off explosions and causing casualties.
The official told The Associated Press that, as with Friday's strike, the target was Fateh-110 missiles, which have very precise guidance systems with better aim than anything Hezbollah has in its arsenal.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity in order to disclose information about a secret military operation to the media.
Israel has said it will not allow sophisticated weapons to flow from Syria to the Lebanese Hezbollah militia, an ally of Syrian President Bashar Assad and a heavily armed foe of the Jewish state.
Syria condemned the airstrikes, saying the attacks aim "to give direct military support to terrorist groups" fighting the government. The Assad regime often refers to rebel forces as "terrorists."
The Syrian Foreign Ministry also said Sunday in a letter sent to the United Nations and the U.N. Security Council that the "Israeli aggression" killed and wounded several people and "caused widespread destruction."
Hours after the reported airstrike on Sunday, Israel's military said it had deployed a rocket defense system to the north of the country as part of "ongoing situational assessments."
Iron Dome protects against short-range rockets. Hezbollah has thousands of such projectiles.

An airstrike in January also targeted weapons apparently bound for Hezbollah, Israeli and U.S. officials have said.
The Syrian state news agency SANA reported early Sunday that explosions went off at the Jamraya research center near Damascus, causing casualties. "Initial reports point to these explosions being a result of Israeli missiles that targeted the research center in Jamraya," SANA said.
The news agency said the strikes were a response to military gains Bashar al-Assad's forces against rebels, according to a Reuters report.

"The new Israeli attack is an attempt to raise the morale of the terrorist groups which have been reeling from strikes by our noble army," the state news agency was quoted as saying.
The U.S. State Department and Pentagon had no immediate comment on the airstrike and the Israeli Embassy in Washington declined a request for comment from Reuters.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman condemned the airstrike but gave no other hints of a possible stronger response from Tehran or its allies.
Ramin Mehmanparast was quoted Sunday by the semiofficial Fars news agency as denouncing the attack on the missiles. It's the first Iranian comments since Israel launched a first round of airstrikes on Friday.
Mehmanparast urged countries in the region to remain united against Israel, but gives no other suggestions of possible further action in response.

A Syrian activist group, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, also reported large explosions in the area of Jamraya, a military and scientific research facility northwest of Damascus, about 10 miles from the Lebanese border.
An amateur video said to be shot early Sunday in the Damascus area showed a huge ball of fire lighting up the night sky. The video appeared genuine and corresponded to other Associated Press reporting.
Israel's first airstrike in Syria, in January, also struck Jamraya.
At the time, a U.S. official said Israel targeted trucks next to the research center that carried SA-17 anti-aircraft missiles. The strikes hit both the trucks and the research facility, the official said. The Syrian military didn't confirm a hit on a weapons shipment at the time, saying only that Israeli warplanes bombed the research center.

Israeli lawmaker Shaul Mofaz, a former defense minister and a former chief of staff, declined to confirm the airstrike but said Israel is concerned about weapons falling into the hands of the Islamic militant group amid the chaos of Syria's civil war.
"We must remember that the Syrian system is falling apart and Iran and Hezbollah are involved up to their necks in Syria helping Bashar Assad," he told Israel Radio. "There are dangers of weapons trickling to the Hezbollah and chemical weapons trickling to irresponsible groups like Al Qaeda."
The Fateh-110, or Conqueror, is a short-range ballistic missile developed by Iran and first put into service in 2002. The Islamic Republic unveiled an upgraded version in 2012 that improved the weapon's accuracy and increased its range to 185 miles.
Iranian Defense Minister Gen. Ahmad Vahidi said at the time that the solid-fueled missile could strike with pin-point precision, making it the most accurate weapon of its kind in Iran's arsenal.
The Associated Press and Reuters contributed to this report.

The American people don't support Israel's attacks on their neighbors any more than Americans don't support Jewish involvement in opening up our borders for 30 Million more immigrants or Jewish involvement in gun control for America
Study after study has shown how dangerous distracted driving is yet people continue to talk on their cell phones while driving. Driving in the U.S. requires your full attention. Many states and countries have made it illegal to use a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle and the federal government should follow their lead. Banning the use of cell phones while driving would have the added benefit of making the no-texting law enforceable.

.
In normalized international relations the Zionist surprise attack on Syria would undoubtedly be considered an 'act of war'. The Zionist have the western world believing they're a special case, however. We really don't know what they actually bombed,,,missiles, government troops, Russian attack missiles.....who knows.....FOXy News knows..?.. ;) ::) .  They have also picked up over flights violating Lebanese air space, too.  However, I don't think the IDF has forgotten getting their butts kicked severely by Lebanese militia in 2006 during their last foray into Lebanon.
.
One thing_ _perhaps those US-NATO-Israeli hired (all CIAduh) mercs attacking Syria now may have second thoughts who they're employed by after this surprise attack....!!
.
But you are right......those missiles fired into Israel are actually fired into Palestinian's own occupied lands...their own land, and there has been no carnage if any at all from these missiles as P'man claims; AND more than half the time we really don't know who launched the missiles from these open air prison camps.  But there's been plenty of Palestinian carnage,,,now Syrian carnage.  The US should have no part of this diabolical crap.

Looks like there was two Zionist air attacks and some zio missile attacks, too in this act of war....essentially amounting to a de facto declaration of  war by Israel on Syria.  Intelligent Americans must remember who attacked first and started this war regardless of what GWOT buff's and  mainstream telaversion propamedia says and spins in the following weeks.
.
And it appears according to RT and others, the zios attacked a food research station and farm and ammo storage depot...this before a ground attack by all CIAduh land guerillas. Here's a source from Syria...

Be prepared for more questionable diversionary 'events' in the USA homeland.

So you are saying Israel is supporting Asad's opposition? Supplying air resources to support the Muslim Brotherhood? Seems a stretch to me TM7. Unless of course the opposition is saying they will let Israel and the U.S. take posession of whatever WOMD are laying around in the aftermath.

My impression, too, but don't know....that was some lit up mushroom alright.  Certainly DU and US supplied bunker busters.  Maybe some of that DU wasn't so depleted afterall... ;)
.
Maybe we'll get a chance to see how hypersonic Yahont and Sunburn missiles fair against Iron Dome after all...
.
Now, I see the israelis have captured a 93 year old Aucshwitz guard_ _they always bring up the holocaust before big attacks.

So Israel and al-Qaeda are going against the Syrian regime that has been in there for 40 years and hasn't done anything to the U.S.  We don't have a dog in this fight.
