.452 plated bullets in a .45acp?
« on: May 04, 2013, 04:57:58 AM »
Is it safe to use the .452 plated bullets in a .45 acp.? I know most plated bullets say to use lead reloading info., didn't know if I could use these bullets since they are more readily available here. Thanks, JamesIII

Probably 90% of what comes out of my 45ACPs is plated. Either Rainier or Berrys. As long as you keep velocities below 1200'ps, the plated bullets are great. Considering you'll never hit 1200'ps with a 45 ACP, load away with any current data.
FWIW, I use a lot of the 200gr HP Rainiers and accuracy is match quality with groups less than an inch at 25 yds.
