#1B in .257 Roberts
« on: May 06, 2013, 10:32:07 AM »
an ANIB Ruger #1B in .257 Roberts with a Leupold Vari-X III 2.5-8x scope just followed me home! Paid 800.00 for the package. As I can be a bit of an knee-jerk buyer, I was wondering how I did. Any feedback is appreciated. I think that it will be a fun rifle to load for and shoot. It is my first #1, and in a cool cailber in my opinion.

Sounds like if you didn't buy it right away you would have turned around and it would have been gone!  I think that is a great deal ;D

Have fun!

great deal considering the scope is worth at least 250 and 800 is about the going price for one without a scope.

You did well.  Very well.  I'm sure you'll enjoy it long after the pain of parting with the purchase price has vanished.

If I wasn't a nice guy, I'd hate you for getting such a good deal...  In a #1, you could recut the chamber to .257AI and the brass would last longer and you could load it hotter...
