A taxie ride in Britain
« on: May 08, 2013, 07:39:27 AM »
A devout Arab Muslim entered a black cab in London. He curtly asked the cabbie to turn off the radio because as decreed by his religious teaching, he must not listen to music because in the time of the prophet there was no music, especially Western music which is the music of the infidel.

The cab driver politely switched off the radio, stopped the cab and opened the door. The Arab Muslim asked him, "What are you doing? "The cabbie answered,

"In the time of the prophet there were no taxis so get out wait for a camel!"

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

That's what I like about London cabbies. Professionalism.

I can't imagine this being true. They really are pros. I had the pleasure of a few rides in London taxis and there is no comparison between that experience and hopping a cab here in the US. Those London guys know their business, and take pride in it. Learning to be a cabbie there is a rigorous process that takes years. It's a real accomplishment.

I watched a show on cabbies training and by the time the cabbies passed the test on the street system in London their memory capacity and IQ both went up a little IIRC. ear

Funny how religious beliefs are tossed aside when they interfer with achieving an objective in their war mongering.
Just another worthless opinion!!
