Pastorp,

I was not a lying, litigator, trial attorney.  They are quite simply paid to repeat the lies of their clients in court.

I was a mergers and acquisitions attorney, who worked on mega merger, sale and loan transactions in a 500 person firm (Senator Howard Baker's firm).  The only thing I was allowed to deal in was the truth.   If anything whatsoever was not fully disclosed or warranted against, then a hundred million dollar transaction would fail to close, nobody got paid, and very likely your client (and then you) would be sued.  If you ever ruined your reputation with a lie, then you were quite simply out of business.  No other business attorneys would ever trust you or take your word for anything, and it is impossible to do large transactions that way.

Now, back to the fun stuff.  Pastorp, I hope you have seen the movie Constantine.  It is absolutely my favorite movie.   The whole basis of the film is that there is indeed a spirit world full of angels, demons, and devils, who pop in and out of our world to influence humans and battle for their souls.  About one in a million humans have the ability to see and talk to these things, and one of them (John Constantine) becomes a detective whose job is to find the bad ones and send them back to Hell.

I think you would really enjoy the movie, as it has all of the great characters in it, Satan, the Anti-Christ, and even an Angel who has gone bad and switched sides.  God comes across looking really merciful in the movie (though they don't show him).

Many scary demons appear in the movie, but sadly, not Bigfoot.

Folks who have not seen these massive unclassified hirsuit primates, or heard them vocalize when they are close and highly ticked off, or clearly seen their huge tracks showing a stride of eight to ten feet would not be expected to "believe in Bigfoot". That's is a typical, just and rational position.

For the first thirty five years of my life, I had no reason to even consider the possibility such creatures existed. During the past fifty three years I have clearly seen three different such creatures and have had partial glimpses of several others. I have heard them vocalize hundreds of times in several states. I have tracked them in three different mountain ranges and in many dozens of creek bottoms, river bottoms and in and around countless sloughs, bayous and oxbow lakes.

I have interviewed several hundred of credible witnesses who have seen these creatures in fifteen states, have gone into the areas of their encounters, have actually verified the existence of the animals in some of those areas, and written details reports of those investigations which have been published in newspapers and on internet web sites.

So, in answer to the question posed as the subject of this thread; "Well do you believe in bigfoot or not??",my answer is NO.

I know a good deal about them. I know they exist. I know they are neither dumb animals nor apes. I know I have seen good photos and videos of them. I know I have examined hair from them under a microscope and concluded the hair is more human-like than it is motr like that of feral or domesticated animals.

I believe in God, Jesus Christ and the bible.

If you have seen good photographs and video of a Bigfoot, why hasn't the world?  A real pic or video would be worth millions.  What qualifies you to defferentiate hair samples?

FHP, your question about why the world haven't seen good pictures & videos of bigfoot if they exist is certainaly a good question.  :o

One reason might be that every time they do show up most of the experts claim there fake. If someone had some they might hesitate to release them for public ridicule.  ;)

Just a idea.....

Of course my belief is that if they do exist they are simply a demonic manifestation. I have spent a lot of time in the outdoors all over the USA and never seen anything like a big ape. But I know a lot of First Nations people that say they do. As usual the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. I don't believe my friends would lie to me and I believe they have seen something, I've seen enough of the supernatural to know its real. Both good & evil.

But I don't believe we will ever have a body for proof. A photo, maybe. I have seen photos of angels that sure looked real so I believe spirit beings can be photographed under the right conditions.

FPH: People all over the world have seen the Patterson/Gimlin movie clip made in the 70's. Have you? If so, what do you believe you saw? MANY people still believe the film is a hoax. There are now dozens of videos and photographs on the internet that are the real things. The problem is, people who don't know what they actually look like have seen so many of the stupid and asinine fake videos that they consider all of them fakes. For that reason MOST of the people who have legitimate images of them only share them with folks who have seen them.

During 23 years working in a research laboratory and having been trained to use every kind of microscope made, including transmission electron and scanning electron units and optical microscopes of all types, I am pretty well qualified to use those instruments. Looking at and comparing hair samples is NOT rocket science. I have my own reference samples of NA feral and domestic animals and many of the exotics brought in from elsewhere. In addition, there are several scientific and an FBI data base available as well. As for human hair, there are basically only three types, with differences depending on what part of the body the hair originated.

Regards.

It did  ;)  It has been a life decision that I don't drink little more than a taste from time to time . I'm sure a small container would hold all I have consumed in 58 years say a gal. maybe two. And the past several years has seem very little indeed due to health conditions. What I have noticed all my life is it is easy to get ones self or others for that matter to believe most anything if you/they are drunk to most any degree.
Now I make no excuse for not believing in Big Foot and nothing short of proof not pictures that can be fake will change my mind. I have nothing against the search. If I ever encounter one and can produce proof I would short of harming one.  Maybe they hide out with Darwin's missing link ? is that also in a different dimension ?

I dare you talk of my being to serious then in the same breath bring up GOBBLERS ! now here them is serious . I have a nice one with about a 10-11 inch beard coming to my back yard. He was strutting Saturday which is late around here. But then several hens showed up later with him. Later there was another smaller gobbler also. Saturday is the last day of the season so I guess I better get one. I don't hunt my place until the last couple days and it seems to collect Gobblers every year. So far the largest was one with a 13 1/2 inch beard and another with a 12 3/4 inch one. Both had pretty big feet also. Come to think of it I do also , think people see me in the woods at night with no shoes on and take me for BIG FOOT ? I was just picking up beer cans they leave .  ;D

Well now, that's better I say.  ;D I spent my spring guiding my grandson to his first gobbler. And my son in law to his first as well. I didn't even hunt for myself. Guess I've always enjoyed helping other to hunt.  ;D

Osceola turkeys here in Florida. Not quite as big as the Easters but real pretty birds, none the less. I believe I've got the son in law hooked on turkey hunting, since he went back home to Georgia he's hunted every day off for a eastern. Just did not happen this year. But they killed two here on the ranch. So I think he should be feel blessed his first year turkey hunting.

And wouldn't ya know it all that time in the woods and I didn't even see one "Bigfoor". One feeder I have set up is right next to a cypress head. Big gum trees and cypress all around with the Spanish moss hanging thick in most place. If ever there was a squash looking area that's it. Boy howdy, ya keep yar gun handy in thar. That's fer shore.

No, I don't believe in bigfoot. It doesn't exist. Prove its real and I will believe.  It's not up to me to prove it doesn't exist. Until then, it is not real and is a very vivid figment of imagination.

new problem.
if one were to harvest a bigfoot,
what tag would go on it?
or is it considered a non-game
species like feral hogs?
if one managed to get it to a
taxidermist, where would he/she
order a mannequin to mount it with?
how would they figure a price for
taxidermy service for a bigfoot?
how would one get the mounted bigfoot
into the house, then where could it
be displayed? the one i saw wouldn't
fit in here at all.
would it be edible?
would it be kinda considered cannibalism?
where could one look for recipes for
say. . .braised bigfoot shanks, or
bigfoot chili?

:)  Howdy! Whether you believe in BF or not is OK!  What we should be studying is "what are people seeing and how can we best explain it scientifically."  Even if some of us say, "Gosh! It's just someone's imagination!"  Okay, why do countless encounters seem to have 3 things in common:  bad smell, rock throwing, wood knocking or broken branches. How does imagination come up with this? And if it is not our imagination, what are people seeing?

Bigfoot is just one of many supernatural manifestations that the ignorant dismiss.

:)  Howdy! There are times when I wish participants would read the question(s). Imagination does not account for the 3 things mentioned previously; ie, bad smell, rock throwing, and wood knocking, etc. Why is there a bad smell?, why are rocks thrown?, and the wood knocks? What are we dealing with then? And, how can we study it to learn more? Swampman may be on to something about supernatural forces, etc. I think there is more to be studied and learned about the BF phenomena, and one day maybe we will know what is all behind it. But to totally dismiss the BF phenomena as just someone's imagination is to cease to study the reasons why?  Always, Gene

I have not seen evidence that would convince me of the existence of Bigfoot. That said, one of my life's goals is to go out west and search for any evidence of the creatures. My theory is that they live on elk, deer, and bear and it would make sense to look in those areas where those animals abound. I'd look during hunting season, and possibly have to shoot an occasional deer or elk for food. Might even have to fish some too. Maybe I can get a grant.

Or the gullible ignorant believe.  Heh swampy is that a bigfoot you just farted?  Maybe that's the foul smell.
