Zulu are you thinking about doing the wood? Cheeks, trail and Axle?

Whiite oak is what was used but for something on this smaller scale would another hardwood work just as well?

How about wheels?  You up for the them?

Dominick, you have been quiet in this discussion.  Are you up for making the irons- Lunnette and trail plate, axle straps, cap squares  top and bottom with chin and keybolts, under straps, rondellels  and elevating  screw and box?   The additional hardware if desired by customer?

Zulu,

Do you plan to use dished wheels?

Douglas,  I have too many irons in the fire right now to take on ironwork for scale cannons.   Dom

These are the wheels I will be using on the carriage I am making for a fellow GBO member.
I think they look pretty good and are the right size at 15 1/2" diameter.  They are dished.
They came from Custom Wagons and cost $150 each plus shipping.
I could never make a wheel like this for $150. :-\

Double D,
Have a look at this GBO link.  Look at replies #97 and #101.
It appears you have spoken with these folks before.
It is amazing what good stuff you can find in the archives. ;)

Didn't  GunsonWheels say there was a problem with those wheels?  Splitting cracking or something.

By the way has any one heard for  GoW lately last time he was on was February.

There are only two segments.  They are steam bent I imagine.

Have you ever seen this guy from ebays cannon wheels. 417steam1
They are 7 segments not 6 but he told me he can do 6 segments for a bit more money. The only down fall is the small axel hole and no hub rings. They was priced to steal last year.

The mountain howitzer carriage has 6 felloes per wheel but the larger pieces have 7.

Dennis,

It's DDs fault. He sent the above prints that got me excited. Its time is now. Serial No.001 is sold. The first run will be for 3 or 4.

Fact for the day: The biggest General in Washington has been replaced by a socialist. Chrysler is owned by an Italian Company. These events have eliminated the Big Three and left us with Ford as the 'Big One'.

Wow the  birth of the Brooks  Napoleon 1" barrel.    Followed shortly there after by the  birth of the Elledge  Napoleon  Field  carriage.    Thanks guys for believing in me and taking the risk in building this gun.  I think it has been pretty successful for you.

I just finished Napoleon carriages #10, #11, and #12.
Here are pictures.  Three different colors.I am currently working on #13 which is already sold.

#9 still sits on my desk and is currently available.  It is exactly like the one seen on my website here.
