New 22LR barrels first kill
« on: May 13, 2013, 02:57:56 AM »
This spring I got 3 new barrels for my 17Mach2.  17 HMR, 22WRM, and 22LR.  Have only had time to put some limited number of rounds through the 22LR so far.  But got a basic sight in and was shooting very tight groups.  Ran some CCI 22 Quiet rounds through it also. Well to its first kill.  Pest control, have cleaned out most of the ground hogs out that were living in my yard, but next door had one that would only come into my yard late at night to ravage the garden. Well I have not done the first grass cutting and the dog came into season so she was not out as normal.  My daughter came racing in a said the big hog from next store was in the yard.  Went up stairs grabbed the sportster and some quiet 22's.  Remembering that the POI was about 1/2 low and to the right with the Q22's compared to the Blazers.  He lifted his head and I put the cross hairs on his nose and slipped it in right behind the ear.  Should have one less garden raider this summer.  The Sportster package worked like a champ.   Can't wait to break in the other barrels.

This my Sportster Rack, Had to get creative running out of space in the gunroom.
