How much adjustment?
« on: February 22, 2004, 05:08:45 AM »
I was reading a book about long range shooting.  It says that most cartridges capable of 1,000 yard shooting drop 50 MOA or less at that range, so you need a scope with a minimum of 60 minutes of internal elevation adjustment, to have enough to compensate for drop at 1,000 yards.  I have a bunch of manufacturer's catalogs (Simmons, Bushnell, Burris, Leupold, etc), but none of them list this information in the specs.  So how do you know how much internal adjustment a certain scope has?

most of my long range guns have  scopes that are 30mm tubes i mainly use leupolds mark 4 series  or a premier reticles version! also shiming the rear base will give you more adj usually with a 1 inch tube you may need a .30 shim  to give you more adj room.
