Handi pic thread
« on: May 18, 2013, 05:16:38 PM »
Where is the thread where everyone shows off their Handi-Rifles?  I can't find it.  In particular, since my 1.25-4.4X Eagle Eye scope seems to be on its last legs, I'm interesting in seeing what long eye relief (not scout) optics are popular.  I'm shooting a .45-70.  Thanks.  Oh, are shotgun scopes practical?

Simmons pro diamond 4x. Can mount ahead of hammer and has held up to 45-70 recoil on lots of handi's. Decent glass. Best part of all....they are cheap

Thanks all.  Laptop's battery died after posting my question and was busy this morning.  Good to know about that Simmons, I think that, and another similar one, may have been what I'm looking for.  Cheap and durable don't always go together, so glad for the feedback.

NC Star makes a 2 to 7 pistol scope that is really more of a long eye relief scope, about 8 inches as I recall, I have one on a Chipmunk Pistol and it really works out good, but not at arms length.  Larry

Both my 45/70s wear the same scope , a Bushnell Banner 3x9 , it has good glass and more important a 5" eye relief , try some lower Ruger loads and you will want as much room between your eye and the scope as you can get .  :o :o :o

Alot of Marlin shooters use the NC Star 2-7 pistolero scope for scout mount setup.  Has the right eye relief.  Just fyi...

I have a few of these, they're simple and work.  Check out the first review.

Yep , the same ones I have , their claim of 6" ER is a tad over from what I have seen , my 2 would start to get fuzzy over about 5" , other than that its a very good scope and at a don't break the bank price .
