Moore Oklahoma just a little bit ago, got pounded, and we're startin to get some rough weather south west of us. Looks like it might be a long night.

ten or twelve years since those poor
folks in moore got pounded.

i've had one ear glued on noaa
and been glancing at the doppler
and it looks to me like a hook
sw or right on top of lawton

although i haven't heard 'em call it

It (the storm southwest of my) seems to be trackin north and east AS USUAL, and if it keeps that up, it will come right over us. I just went down, and checked the cellar for small critters (bugs and spiders), and am letting it air out. I noticed my neighbors across the pasture are doin the same.

My wife works for the Norman-Moore hospital system. She says it's bad.

Pretty much the same path as the one on May 3rd 1999. News is reporting this one appears worse.

OF, that's all that's on TV down here. I'm watchin the one that's movin into Ft. Worth, I have two sons and a daughter there, with 5 grand children. It also seems to be trackin my way.

anyone in this or the surrounding
states needs a weather radio.
i just got a new grundig/eton
unit this last year to replace
the old motorola that fizzled.
charges off hand-crank, solar,
or usb port. goes everywhere i do.
cell repeaters can fizzle but n.w.s.
noaa weather radio is always there.

My Wife has a Son living in OKC area. He was out of town working at the time. Two Grand kids and their kids in Ponca City OK. Two Grand Kids in Tulsa, and they had one on the ground in their area. I think it was the first cell to hit Moore.

God be with those folks that had Children in that elementary school that was so hard hit.They will be in my prayers tonight.

NUTHIN! We didn't even get rain. Everything went on both sides of us.

Over 50 in Moore, Ok. killed, 20+ of them kids at the elementary. A very bad day yesterday.

What a lot of people don't really know is the OKC metro is a boom town right now. So there's lots of folks who are not native to this scenario there. Moore in particular was growing faster then they could build homes for people to live in. The natural gas and petroleum businesses were expanding weekly. So lots of people have been moved here that haven't experienced a major tornado before.

Everything I've read so far says the schools did all they could do to save lives. But when a big slow moving storm sits on top of you.....you lose.

My heart just aches for the families who have lost loved ones right now.

My wife is in the Mo. boot heel visiting her sister. She comes home tomorrow night and I'll be so relieved when she's out of that war zone.

OF, I am haulin oil out of that area and your right. There are camp grounds full of travel trailers where the oil field boys and their families are living temporarily.

People got pounded last night all around me. Thunderstorms raged all night and today. 5" rain has fallen so far today, and more severe weather forecasted before dark. So far so good here. i ain't complainin' about a little hail.

They're saying we can relax now. In Poteau, the Farmers CoOp was one of the businesses that was hit by last nights high winds. One family in Cameron lost their home. It was a hit and miss all across the area.
