Colorado keeps having to repave. Part of the blame goes to heavy trucks, part to the freeze thaw cycle, a bit to expansive soil. They rotomill the top layer, then reuse a lot of the stuff in a new mix. But I always wonder about the seam they leave when they lay down the asphalt. When it is damp, you can see the moisture between each of the lanes, and that is where it staerts breaking out. It would seem to me that a tar seam, and rolling tight to the previous pass would seal better.
Any one actually work with this stuff, and know?
I don't like to get the chipped windshield from the debris, and wish the effert could be put into the bridges where you can see rusted rebar showing through broken out pieces.
