DPMS scope mounting

Just bought a DPMS 5.56.  Mounted a scope with Extra High Rings I use on my Handi's.  No good scope is too low, can not get my face low enough to see through the scope.  What mounts are used to raise the scope high enough?  Rail already mounted on gun.

This is a real switch for me, going from single shots back to a Semi-auto.

I take its a A4 flat top?   If it is I don't understand how extra high rings can be to low?  I use normal height rings on  mine  and I get prefect alignment.  Maybe your not getting proper cheek weld as AR's require bottom of stock to ride high on shoulder - not like normal stock holds of bolt guns etc.
You bring the gun up to your line off site - don't bring your head down to get alignment ;D

Get one of the RRA one piece cantilever mounts.  They're available in 1" or 30mm and list for $50.  I get them locally for $40 and I like them better than the PEPR for double the money or more.  Individual mounts and rings don't work well on an AR.  The one piece are much more stable and withstand changes in temp and other anomalies as well as allowing for proper eye relief.

never tried the rra unit but have had good luck with the pepr.

The RRA and the Burris PEPR are very similar with the only real difference being $$$.

You could also try a SSALT from SWFA.  I get the mount and a scope as a package and save quite a bit of $$.

Try Leupold rifleman highs or the Rifleman see thrus which are very high,I use and like them both.If you like more of a heads up the see thrus are great,if you like a good cheek weld the Highs are great.
The see thrus are cantilevered as well if you nee that with your scope choice.

I have a Nikon AR mount it couples a forward cantilever with a riser mount to bring reticle into the same position as the irons. Simple extra tall rings will leave the scope pretty danged close to your eye.
Leupold makes the same thing I believe, as does Larue and many others.


My Nikon was $100, I believe they make a two piece for a bit less.

Went to Sportsman's a friend there showed me a mount that is made for ARs.  Got that mount and mounted the scope.  Seems a bit tight for me, but I can see through the scope with no problems.  Got the basic sighting in done for 100 yards, now for the fine tuning at 200 and 300 yards.
