I was 19 yrs. old I borrowed Dad's 30-30 94 for a deer hunt...Took it out in the field and put up a target and backed off 100 yds....Fired a five shot group offhand and was disappointed because it covered about 4"
...felt really let down compared to shootin a model 62 .22 at fifty yards...you see my eyesight was better than 20-20...never realized that the ole thutty thutty was plenty accurate
...aah the ignorance of youth
Wish that i could take a iron sighted 94 today(46 yrs.later) and fire a 100 yd. 4" group whilst standing upright with out any rest of any kind..
