Ruger Blackhawk .357 Old Model
« on: February 22, 2004, 03:06:42 PM »
I picked up a nice 6 1/2"  three screw .357 Blackhawk this week.  This is my first three screw gun, manfactured in 1970.  I did get a chance to shoot it and was very pleased with accuracy with factory ammo.  I'm ready to handload, any pet loads you care to share?  Thanks,
Joe :cb2:

joe z,
I'm partial to the concept of "one gun, one load" and prefer the Speer 146 grain sjswc-hp backed with a heavy charge of Win.-296, magnum primer and a heavy roll crimp, in my .357s. I consider this an "all-around" load and use it extensively in the field and in some applications of personal defense. It is accurate and reliable.
