Morality of the future?
« on: May 29, 2013, 09:38:12 AM »
This youngest generation is growing up trained by video war or other violent games. Remote controlled assassins used today will be as common as TV while they grow up. A person being incinerated is common viewing via the internet. How numb will our souls become. What personal conscience will the future world have I wonder. ear

An economic crash like the one of the 1920s is the only thing that will get the US off of the road to Socialism that we are on and give our children a chance at a future with freedom and possibility of economic success.

Since the beginning of mankind our species has predicted that the future generation will doom us all.  Somehow they will make do.

murder has always been with us,
but it's never been "stylish" as it is now.
younger generations have a very real hard
time separating video fantasy from reality.

The generation born since 1975 grew up with video games, smart phones, etc. I.e., the oldest of them are almost 40, many are past their "youthful indiscretion" years, and have settled down. They are advancing civilization in their way, just as we did in our time. Wish them Godspeed. They are the future.

Personally, being a child of the 60s and 70s, and all that implies, I have no dignity to stand on when it comes to sniping at younger or older generations. Indeed, my generation composes most of the idiots in Washington, and indeed most of what's wrong with this country today.

I agree with dukkillr, they will do fine, although "we" have made it harder, not easier for them, I always worry that my generation has not left things in as good of shape as it was left for us. Things kinda went south with the advent of the "Great Society" in the 60's

i used to work for a old guy when i was a kid, late 70's early 80's.farm work and such. he claimed american morality had been on a down hill slide ever since Elvis swiveled his hips on tv in front of a bunch of screaming girls.he was a good guy but kinda odd.

i was watching a court tv type show a while back where a young feller actually told the judge.that if he screwed you over on a business deal by being deceitfull or dishonest.then that was your mistake for being so gullible and he should not be held accountable for it.you could tell he believed it with all his heart too.

thats kinda where we are headed.

Who/what will end up in Washington is my specific worry. We don't control  who is elected. What tone will that leadership set? I don't worry for me, I'll be gone then. I worry for my children and grand children. ear
