Pics of my rifles
« on: May 29, 2013, 02:00:22 PM »
Thought you folks would like to look at a few pics of my rifles.  First is a Classic Carbine .45 Colt topped with a Nikon Buckmaster 1x muzzle loader scope. I made the Barrel band and the sling myself. Second is my NEF .357 Mag. It has the Nicest Polish and Blue job on the Reciever that I have ever seen. I made the Sling myself. It is probably my Favorite out of the bunch. It is insanely accurate with .38 Special+P 125 grain hollowpoints. It is topped with a Burris Short Mag 4x scope. Third is a Topper 158 in .22 Hornet made the sling myself. It is topped with a old weaver K2.5. Last is a Ultra Varmit in .223. It is topped with a 2-7 Burris Fullfield II.

Thanks Dinny! You should have seen my topper when I got it. It was a mess. The factory buttstock had been carved on in the cheek rest area, and it had a homemade pistol grip screwed to the bottom of the stock...... It was ugly. Luckily I was able to find another stock and was able to fit the original plastic  H and R buttplate to .
It doesn't get shot much any more due to the cost of .22 hornet ammo. It has killed many squirrel in the last 10 years.

Man nice bunch.  You really should reload.  My low power .223 loads are about 4.1 gr. Unique or about 1.28 cents of powder.  And if you cast your own boolits about the same.  Add in the 4 cents for a primer and you are looking at about 6 cents total per shot.  ;)  Mine chronied with a 5 shot string average of 11 fps std. deviation and a muzzle velocity around 1200 fps.  Puts them all in one hole at 50 yards.  ;)

I couldn't tell you what speed I'm afraid. I have been using factory ammo. I can tell you it has virtually zero recoil, and fairly quite.
