Another Boyd's Forend Problem
« on: May 31, 2013, 08:49:56 AM »

Just ordered a field design walnut stock set for my encore and found issues with the forend. Please see the email I sent Boyd's. Anyone else have this problem?

The Encore rifle comes with two forend screws one is a 3/4” (8x40 thread) and the other is a 1/2” (8x40 thread). The T/C Encore Prohunter forend uses two screws that are 1” or two 3/4'”. The forend I was sent has both screw holes drilled to the same depth. I cannot use the 3/4” screw as it is way to long and when I try to use the 1/2” screw it bottoms out in the barrel before the the forend can even tighten. Are all your forends like this or is mine out of spec?
