Help project gone wrong
« on: May 31, 2013, 03:25:48 PM »
It has been two weeks since I sent my frame to H&R for a 357 barrel called to ck on it today. They said they had not received it. Got home after work called back with tracking number showing delivery date they said they would some checking around and would call back. Has anyone been through this and if so what should I expect.  If they can't find it should I report it lost or stolen to the police? :'(

I did. After 30 days I had them institute a trace. At 60 days, I told them I wanted my insurance money. They wanted to welsh on the insurance because it was "just a frame/ receiver" not the whole gun. I insisted, as they had accepted the price for $300 worth of insurance, and said that my other barrels were basically unuseable without the frame, except as a club. They said no. I filed in small claims court. We went before the judge, he told them to pay the $300 plus cost. I bought another rifle. Whole process took from about Sept 1st until February. Huge PIA, but I got a new rifle and eventually frames that the other barrels would work on. There is a rusty hunk of metal somewhere....

I'll echo that advice.  Several years ago, I sent one in for two barrels.  For some reason UPS sent one barrel back without delivering it; it took a bid of persistance, but they finally found it on the dock and reshipped it to me.

As many times as people call the company and ask a question and they get three different answers from 3 different calls I would wait and see. Or else find the names of the people that Tim posts here once in a while with the number for them at the Ilion plant and talk direct to them.  I wouldnt wigg out quite yet from one phone call. You have your paperwork and the insurance money wont be quick anyway so give it a couple more calls and some time without being super mad.  I bet it will turn up and may be just fine.  You may have every reason to be upset, but I would make a couple more calls Monday to Lisa or whoever it was that Tim had posted her number here a couple weeks ago or a month ago.  And see if you get a more accurate answer. Plus with last weekends Holiday that always messes up shipping.  Hope it turns out well but if it were me I would make a couple more calls.
Hope it is ok.   Brent

Glad I'm not the only one that has a bit of trouble with the small fonts.  ;)

Is that Jeff Galloway, the 1970s marathon runner - maybe a H&R Extra Lightweight model may be in the future?
