Probably all of it its something new everyday now. Fatercat its going to take more  than this before
Americans do anything. They have a history of being late comers.
But it isn't going as expected for the other side either so its now a wait game on who starts it.

Fatercat, I belive goodshot only meant that there are so many things going on and end of the world
scenarios out there. That he only was being specific in asking about which one.
I know goodshot and I'm sure he didn't mean anything offensive, and thank you for your service.
We need people like you with your courage and outspokenness. And I totally agree with you about
America finding the courage to do something. But I feel it should be us who choose our battles,
and when and not our enemy's decision.

What mess is it you're referring to, and what, specifically, would like to see done to fix this mess?
goodshot i have seen GI.S gut shot. who the (censored word) are you?
He seems to be a guy asking a reasonable & civil question. Are you gonna answer?

Hey, I saw a TU-95 up close once, and I've seen a deer gut-shot (it was my shot, sadly - but I recovered the deer!)

Yes, thanks all for chiming in, from the op i cannot discern what you were referring to.
Kind of looks like the perfect storm doesn't it? With the worthless dollar, no border security, trouble in the middle east, China preparing to exert it's power. Sounds like what the Good Book said would happen at the time of the end, by the way , your Creator knew the end from the beginning.
But  saying it takes "more than prayer" sounds like an oxymoron.

Back to the original post. I think it's important to have a good attitude and not worry about stuff that I can't do anything about. Focusing on the good helps.

I'm not a religious type, but know lots of people wo are, and that derive a lot of contentment from seeing life through the context of a bigger picture than day to day woes.

fatercat is very unhappy about something, but he doesn't want to say what - that, and he's got his M14 handy (Class III? permit?) to set matters right, whatever those matters are.

You forgot to mention the tax on the tax. That was left over from the other tax. Back when you
paid the tax on what you had bought then had to pay the tax to operate it.
Or the tax on the phone call if you have any trouble with it or have to use your vehicle to return it.
That's where the multiplied tax kicks in, gas tax, insurance tax, road tax, parts tax, toll tax, ticket tax,
DMV tax, and taxes that are repetitive everytime you start your car.
Food tax, taxes added to your bills, medicine tax, income tax, tax on your sewer and water, electric
tax, death tax, birth tax, burial tax, hair doo tax, pet tax, rent tax, property tax, it just keeps going
on. If they could tax the air you breath I'm sure they would.
But Obama and Congress will find a way I'm sure they are working on it.

Oh and Conan the Latin was on subject. Classic if you want to look it up there are nine forms of
Latin. Including the ones that incorporated Greek and the one that became modern Italian
Goodshot understood it I guess we were good little Pre Vatican III kids growing up.

Yeah I long for "the good old days" too, back when we were running only 2 wars full blast on credit....just so China could come in after the smoke cleared and buy all the oil...instead of using part of it to pay for the war(remember that plan?)  Instead the economy was tanked ,millions slaughtered, and countries destroyed(treated as liberators?),  but luckily had a bad muslim black guy coming in to take all the blame....Nothing could make it more better than seeing an all-out civil war here, with all kinds of citizens gut-shot....all for the grumblings of Fox News....and their followers....

my avatar pic is my 1960 Rambler I bought in 1972 for $175..6 banger 3-on-the-tree...drove it for 5 yrs  22mpg.. was "hot-rodding" (LOL) one night...tore out 1st/reverse gear. Drove it that way for 2 yrs(with no reverse and only 2nd and high)  Had to really plan ahead when parking.
sold it for $125

Did you see the movie Windtalkers. The special forces of some country's are being taught to speak
Latin. One of the nine the other right do not mix well.
Some people are doing it on shortwave, against prying ears. In any conflict this could be a very
useful tool. Gut Shot, lets see there was no real words for that it usually meant cleaved as stabbed    In the intestines.
Gut as in intestines: Cemoral.
Shot or shoot as with propel something like an arrow: langurum.
Not the devise that did it like a bow or a catapult, that word is Ballista.
That's all for today there will be a test. I thought it was on subject we were talking about gut shot
soldiers.

We, ignoring the state of the rest of the world, used to be a country with a government-- of the people, by the people, for the people.

It is now a government-- over the people, to control the people, for the government.

It will only get worse.

Okay, now I know what the thread is about.  In my seven decades on this orb, we've always been in a state where things have to get worse before they can get better.  I sure hope we're just about there.

Our govt. is an on going process that "can" have it's makeup changed every few years. It is true prayer alone might not fix it , the prayers must be answered. Of course we must pray as a people first and second we must vote. Two things that don't get as much use as they should in todays world.
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

William: I'll slide over since we seem to be in the same boat, Anna gives me more credit than I deserve.
Once upon a time I had a landlady who had 5 years of Latin at Cornell,  That's Cornell in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, the original
one, the cheaters in New York state stole the name from us. Her idea of small talk was a Latin lesson.
Learned a lot from her, the root of many of our words is Latin, it's good to stretch the old gray matter, look at Anna, that is one smart lady.
Found this at TheAramaicscriptures.com and wanted to share it, God has given us such a beautiful world, and blessed us here with our nation founded and dedicated to Him, that it is easy to want it preserved for our progeny. He has more in store for
us than we can imagine, if we trust Him and accept His loving gift of salvation.

15 Have no love for this World, and also not for a thing that there exists in it, for, whoever that has love for this World; there's not The Love of The Father in him.
Shalom

fatercat, things are changing, and for the worst. I think most of us, have taken a stand. Their called tea party's,grass roots organizations,NRA, and a lot of others. Trying to right a bunch of wrongs, before it goes to far. Don't think we can do it. It's already gone on, way to long. John Birch Society back in the early 60's was one of the first one's. Wanted to get the US out of the UN back then. And, that was when there was what,200 million people in this country. And 99% of them just wanted to work, and raise a family. Now, you have 300 million, what, 10-11 million are in this country illegally, how many have been brought up thinking the country and govt. owe them a life. Brainwashed. Just like muslims children are in the middle east, being shone cartoons killing Jewish people. Don't know any better. Will prayer stop it, I doubt it. But, it sure makes me feel better.Thank him for forgivness, and guidance. Take a stand, yep. Do my best to help family and friends, prepare for what I think is going to happen, pray that it doesn't. gypsyman

Fatercat;
I understand your frustration, since I feel much of the same frustration..but as Magooch and Shootall said, ..things usually get worse before they get better.  Let's hope we are near bottom now and will soon start heading up.
Today the congressional hearings take up for instance, how the IRS party in Anaheim provided as much as $3,000 a night for each attendee's hotel room (multiple nights).. for their Fun & games held there.  Seems the IRS agents involved didn't report these as individual bennies..  In effect, they are tax evaders.
Perhaps after a few more scandals some of the Koolaid drinkers will put their glasses down.  That could be enough!

  Bide your time..but until then, take comfort in this Scripture;

"I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves."
(Matt10:16 NIV)
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)
