I guess if I am headed to a place that is not a good place and have no choice to drive there, a Glock or 1911 is what I want, a carbine or shotgun is not leagal to carry loaded in my truck, so that's out for going somewhere already loaded. Problem is I like revolvers and have those with me a lot and don't go to bad places usually, even though any place can get bad no matter where you are so I am handycapped already a lot of times. Sometimes my handycap is even bigger those times when I only have a single action or two with me, but at least I have something with me all time. I guess I am one those people who just have to make do with what I have with me, but at least I always have something with me. Usually a double action revolver is always with me no matter what else I have while going somewhere. I do admit a reliable semi auto works out better if things go bonkers, but I like revolvers and usually have those these days. Used to be 1911's all the time for over a decade, I reverted back to revolvers, don't ask me why, there may not be a good reason, except I like them. Guess there doesn't have to be a real good reason for what we have with us, but it's good to always have something no matter what it is. The easiest handgun to shoot quick and accurate at all different ranges at multiple targets for me is a 1911, I think it's because of the trigger pull, but even so, I still reverted back to revolvers for everyday use, no particular reason except I like them and the different types of calibers and ammo I shoot in them. Like what was just said, no matter what you carry, keep it clean and lubed and practice with it, anything you use is better than being caught naked.
